Disclaimer: Harry Potter; note mine.

This is a one shot, and you may have read it before. It was, once, on a different account that I had. I hope you enjoy. Until I wrote this story I had no idea how much fun Ginny was to write.

Envelopes and IOU's

He was wearing that stupid grin…again. The one only Mr. Harry Potter could pull off. Harry Potter…annoying as the bloke was, I was in love with him. Crazy in love.

We had been dating for two years today, (it was more sophisticatedly referred to as our two year anniversary) and I had spent a good percentage of my time searching for the perfect gift to get him. Luckily, I found that certain perfect gift and it happened to be two tickets to the Chudley Cannon verses Falmouth Falcons Quidditch match next Friday. The second ticket was supposedly for me but, after the so called 'anniversary gift' I had just received, I officially doubted that statement.

Harry had taken two seconds out of his precious time to grant me an envelope with letters I.O.U stamped across the back.

"Ginny," he started to say, but I intentionally cut him off.

"Do you know how infuriated you make me? Prancing around like the git you are, having 'I killed you-know-who' glued to your name, and yet you can't even afford the time to get your girlfriend a simple anniversary gift!"

"Well, you know me, the git." I shot him an incredulous look. "Ginny-."

"I'm not listening!" I bellowed through all of Harry's 'waits and buts'. "Sorry! Can't hear you!"

"Oh, come on, Ginny!"

I clasped my hands over my ears and shouted, "Not listening!"

A sly smile began to play lightly on his face as I spotted a figure staggering on the staircase. "Ron?"

"I thought 'act like a five year old day' was last week," Ron stated, stepping cautiously into view.

"You would know. Now, if you can't already tell, Harry and I have some unfinished business we still have to settle." His feet remained glued to the carpet. "So get the hell out!" And with a swift movement of his legs, he was out the door and into the wintry cold.

"Ginny," Harry tried again.

As I began to conjure up another mind blowing sequence of ear piercing sentences he stepped closer to me and sealed my mouth shut with his hand.

"Will you shut up for one bloody second?"

I only glared.

"Good enough for me. Okay, maybe you hadn't noticed, but what I gave you was an envelope. Anyway, maybe, and I am only suggesting this here, maybe you should open it."

He released his hand from my mouth as I brought the envelope stating I.O.U nearer to my face.

Before I dared open it, I threw one last stare at Harry." I hope you are praying."

Then I did it. I flipped up the flap. My eyes grew wide as I read more words on the inside. It stated:

My Heart.

Funny what two words can send a person through. Shock. Humiliation. Love. Harry's real message, was 'I.O.U my heart'.

I glanced up at him, not in the unforgiving way I had previously, but with sincerity, and realized he was studying my face.

I looked back down at the envelope and noticed something I hadn't caught before. Reaching my hand down into it, I scoped out a ring. And it wasn't just you're typical ring, let me tell you that.

Harry now bore a nervous look in those bright green eyes of his. "Erm, Ginny. The thing is, I love you. I really, really love you. Will you do me the favor of marrying me?"

I didn't say a word, but I did make the space between us non-existent by pressing my lips to his. "Just in case you're wondering," I whispered pulling back. "That's a yes."
