It was silky and clean. Perfect and oh so soft to the touch. Crisp and never knotted together.
Kai often pondered about the actual color of Rei's hair, and he wasn't sure if it was black or a dark shade of midnight purple. Sometimes it was both when the light hit it right and made it shine.
One of the bluenette's favorite pastimes was to curl up on the couch with a good book, and his boyfriend snuggled up against his side. And while he was reading the book, he would twirl said boyfriend's tresses around a finger. The alternative was to make little braids when Rei watched Tv though.
In short, Kai adored Rei Kon's hair in every aspect.

The door creaked open and Rei padded in quietly, "Kai, I'm back from running my errands." He called, while he made sure that his hood didn't fall off.
Kai smiled and put down the sandwich he was making then walked out of the kitchen towards Rei with a smile. He was pleased to see him like he always was, and Kai promptly brought Rei into a gentle embrace before kissing him on the lips and nuzzling his neck.
Rei smiled, but he fidgeted, not making direct eye contact with Kai. He nibbled his lower lip anxiously.
"Baby?" Kai asked as he cocked his head to the side, "What's wrong, you look upset." The bluenette was obviously worried, and embraced the shorter man a little tighter.
Rei opened his mouth like he was going to say something but words seemed to fail him. With a sigh, he brought a shaky hand up to his jacket's hood and pulled it off of his head.
Kai's eyes widened as he looked at Rei's head, the hair, which had once flown down to his shins, was cut. And cut wasn't even the proper term for it, it was hacked and uneven, reaching on average to Rei's earlobes besides the bangs in the front. The hair was choppy and tussled beyond belief in some patches.
"L-look, I know that you probably hate it but it was an accident." Rei said quickly. "I was delivering a package to a friend and some kid put gum in my hair." Rei's eyes burned a little as tiny tears formed, "I panicked and cut it myself. You know how I'm afraid of… h-hairdressers and all. I've never had my hair cut before so I didn't know what to do." Rei's lower lip trembled and he looked down at the floor, "I-I'm sorry."
Kai closed his eyes and hugged Rei tightly against his chest. He ran a hand through Rei's new mussed up hair, "Rei, I was going to say how incredibly sexy you look. Don't apologize."
"B-but - "
"Shush." Kai smirked, "I love it."
Rei looked up and smiled at Kai with bug, shiny, watery eyes.
"Rei, don't get all mushy on me please – mmnnf!" Kai lost his balance as Rei glomped him and toppled onto the tile floor.
