Imaginary
So this is what it's like… to want to die… the voice rang through the girl's head as she wandered through the dark empty house.
Lightning struck the atmosphere outside and light creaked in from the open windows as the damp breeze anonymously entered and slowly drew the girl's long hair back.
Her dark hair, the hair she had neglected to brush or groom for the past two weeks. The hair that irritated her dirty face, and always found a way passed her chapped, now bleeding lips as the lit cigarette lay between her non-brushed yellow teeth.
I don't want this to go on… she inhaled the fumes, covered in nicotine and marijuana and then exhaled in a slow, steady sigh.
I don't want to live to see the sun rise she carelessly tossed the cigarette to the ground and then stepped on it with her bare foot.
An annoying beeping sound came from the side table in the shadows, and the constant whirling came from the invisible answering machine.
"Sango-chan! It's me, Koharu!" A desperate sound was recorded onto the tape. "You're scaring me Sango! I haven't seen you since the funeral! Please pick up!"
Sango is no more… than a dead memory! A smirk appeared on her face. And that dead memory was my name.
The floor creaked underneath her weight. Whom I used to be…
She flicked the light on. But not who I am.
She turned the rusted tap and cold water started to flow. Only what I was…
Her brown eyes watched as the tub began to fill, then she stepped into the cold element.
Strange how something I need is going to be my end she shivered as she brought her legs up to her chest.
The water began to rise, and her clothes clung around her body and soaked through her. When it was past her waist she lay back as the tub began to overflow.
She took in one breath then submerged her face under the surface. She closed her eyes and waited until her abused lungs were empty, and they began to seize and scream for air.
Still, she would not emerge, she refused to allow her lungs to breathe in the oxygen she needed, and yet she was clam.
Her mind went black as her heart pounded in her head.
Suddenly, oxygen entered her lungs from her mouth, and she felt air tingle against her wet skin.
"No…" she whispered.
She was still here.
"Don't move young lady, we're getting you help." A voice spoke, then she felt plastic encircle her nose and lips, then oxygen came into her mouth.
Damn…
