Chapter 1

There was a great celebration going on on the planet of Britannia. Britannia was hosting a showcast for the galaxy. It was an opportunity for the planets of the Outer Rim to demonstrate what they could bring to the evergoing Republic. There was trade being down between mechanics, merchants, farmers, technicians, not to mention Jedi, the peace-keepers who's sole was to keep the peace in the galaxy.

The Jedi were beings who were unlike any other. They possessed a mystical power known as the Force. What the Force was, it was an energy field made of of all living things that surrounds life, binds, penetrates life and binds the galaxy together. However, there were two sides of the living Force known as the Light and Dark side. The Jedi only followed the Light and it was a struggle each day for them to not succumb to the dark. Jedi rarely used their powers since their role was to negotiate without resorting to conflict. Their powers were only used in drastic or dangerous situations.

Normally, the Jedi wouldn't participate in celebrations like the one Britannia was throwing. But it had been argued by the Jedi Council that such a opportunity was too good to pass up. It was also a rare opportunity for the young Jedi in training to see such an event since the Younglings couldn't leave the Jedi Temple without being supervised by Jedi Masters.

Not only that, but the Jedi Masters thought this would be a good thing for Younglings to observe the galaxy that they will one day serve when they have become fully trained Jedi's.

"Lelouch!" called out a Jedi Youngling named Suzaku Kururugi. "Lelouch! Can you believe this! Just look! There's so many people!"

"Too many, if you ask me," replied a young Jedi named Lelouch.

Suzaku chuckled. "You need to relax. "Enjoy yourself. It is a festival after all."

"I am enjoying myself," Lelouch told him.

"It doesn't look like it to me," Suzaku pointed out, indicating the serious look Lelouch seem to have. "People would look at you and think you're the kind of guy who spoils the fun."

Lelouch was a rather difficult person. Ever since he was old enough to walk and train with his fellow Younglings, he found it difficult to make friends. However, for Lelouch he wasn't there to make friends. His focus was on his training, to be the very best Jedi he could be.

When it came to special occasions such as these, Lelouch would spend his making sure he wore his finest Jedi tunic and polishing his boots. While the clan he was put on would spend him chatting and telling stories of the famous Jedi, Lelouch thought it was more fit to a Jedi to impress their masters.

Despite being a longer, one boy reached out to Lelouch, feeling he could use a friend. The boy was named Suzaku Kururugi. When the two of them formed a bond with each other, they became inseparable.

"Suzaku, remember where we are," Lelouch reminded his friend. "People are staring at us."

"So what?" Suzaku replied. "It's a celebration. We're supposed to be enjoying ourselves."

Lelouch sighed. "Obviously, you don't understand why we're really here. As Younglings, we're supposed to be representing the Jedi. What would Master Mavis say if he saw you prancing and dancing like some imbecile?"

"And now you're worried about Master Mavis," Suzaku said. "Come on. She's not here right now. She's probably busy being wise, serene, putting on that goofy smile she always has and…"

"Oh, I have a goofy smile," spoke a small young girl. Despite her young age appearance, the girl was a lot older than anyone realized.

Lelouch's heart sunk when Suzaku turned around, bumping into a bare-footed girl with long beautiful blonde hair and green eyes, wearing a light colored Jedi tunic. This girl was Grand Jedi Master Mavis Vermillion, the leading member of the Jedi Council and Jedi Order.

"M...M… Master Mavis," Suzaku stuttered. "I'm so sorry."

"You idiot!" Lelouch bellowed.

Mavis only smiled. "Oh, don't worry about it. However, I do suggest you look where you're going or who you bump into, Suzaku.

As if they were waiting for disaster to strike, the other Jedi Master rushed to Mavis' aid. Among them was an elder Jedi by the name of Hiruzen Sarutobi and Jedi Master Tobiume, who was also a seeker, who had brought many of the orders new recruits.

"Master Mavis, are you alright?" Hiruzen asked.

"Who did this?" Tobiume questioned the two, with a stern look on her face.

Suzaku sighed and honestly approached the Jedi Master. "It was me. I'm sorry. I just got so excited with the festival and…"

"And this is why dragging Younglings halfway across the galaxy was a mistake," Tobiume told Mavis.

Mavis raised her right hand for everyone to settle down. "It's alright, everyone. There's no need to make a fuss. No harm has been done. It was just an accident."

"Suzaku really is sorry, Master Mavis," spoke Lelouch.

"I'm sure he is," Mavis said, looking at Suzaku. "Well, are you, Suzaku?"

Suzaku nodded. "Yes, Master. I am."

Mavis smiled once more. "What's done is done, my fellow Masters. Shall we proceed?"

Even though Mavis was the type of Jedi who was quick to forgive, Tobiume wasn't. She fixed Lelouch and Suzaku with a suspicious glare, as if convinced the two of them would blunder into trouble when her back was turned.

"Now, don't go wandering off," Tobiume warned them. "The Lightsaber demonstrations takes place in less than an hour. Do you understand? Remember why we are here."

"Yes, Master," Lelouch bowed. "To demonstrate the discipline and composure of the Jedi."

Hiruzen chuckled. "There, now, you see, Tobiume. They were listening as you can see. Well done, Lelouch."

"Thank you, Master Sarutobi," Lelouch replied.

Lelouch and Suzaku decided to stay where they were, waiting for the masters as they headed back to the stage where the demonstration would begin.
