It was near mid-day when the young artist heard a light scratching at his door brought him from his thoughts. His master was currently out, and he was alone. He wasn't expecting anyone currently.
The blonde looked up from his work, glancing over to the door. He stared at it for a moment, the light scratching having seemed to have stopped for now. After a few minutes of waiting to see if it would happen again,he figured it was nothing, going back to work.
Just as he picked up his brush though, the scratching started up once more. The painter heaved a sigh, pulling himself off his stool, and made his was to the door. As he opened it, he blinked. No one was there. He made a slight face in confusion before he heard a yip near his feet. Leonardo looked down to see a familiar fox with a rather large beret on its head. "Sara?" he asked, the fox yipping in response to her name.
The blonde knelt down to her, pulling the hat off her head. As he did so, a piece of paper fell out of it, most lightly having been stored in the folds of cloth. He blinked a bit, picking it up off the ground.
He stared at the rather rumbled and folded piece of paper in his hands for a moment or two before unraveling it. The writing was almost illegable, definately Gilberto's writing.
'Leonardo,
I bought this for you, yes, I actually bought it, and had Sarafina bring it to you. I hope you wear it often.
Gilberto'
A soft smile came across Leo's face. He actually bought him the beret, he hadn't just stole it for him. That meant so much. The blonde then pulled out a bit of bread, handing it to the little fox in front of him. "Grazie, Sara, you are an angel," he said softly, petting her head.
As soon as he put the red beret on his head, positioning it so it wouldn't fall, Sarafina yipped one last time, and ran off. Leonardo kept smiling to himself as he watched her run off, probably to report back to her master. He then stood up, still smiling, and gently shut the door, going back to his work happily.
