Summery: Post twilight Tony gets a visitor to help him go on.
Authors Notes: Though I have been a reader of fanfiction for many years this is my first so be gentle.
Tony looked across the ocean. Kate was gone he thought disheartened. Tonight they would fly out for her funeral but before then he needed the peace and calm of this special place. He took a deep breath.
"It's a beautiful view Tony." Said a voice
"Whenever something went wrong at home or school I'd always run to the ocean wishing I could escape. It looked so big I though no one not even my father would find me."
"What are you running from this time Tony?" the voice asked.
"I don't know Kate. Maybe the fact I couldn't save you? If I had been a better investigator I would have know it was a trap and…"
"Oh DiNozzo, that's one thing I didn't realise when we worked together, and I should have, you always take the weight of the world on your shoulders even though you don't need to. This was NOT your fault Tony DiNozzo!!!"
Tony closed his eyes, "Why did you have to leave me? I hate you have to admit this now but I loved you Kate, I just wish I had had the guts to tell you when you were here. Now it's too late thanks to Ari."
"Tony don't dwell on the past and what's been lost. Kate placed a kiss on Tony's forehead and for a spilt second Tony could swear he felt the soft lips on his skin. "Let go. I wasn't the one for you, though I did love you with all my heart. I can see now that there is someone else out there for you, you just have to be open to it." Tony gave a lusty grin. "Not that open DiNozzo." Kate said whacking him. "You have the rest of your life don't spend it miserable, that's not what I want for you Tony."
She kissed him gently on the lips. "Goodbye Tony. Live long and live happy.
And then she was gone.
Tony touched his lips.
"Goodbye Katie, my first love."
