A Child's Insight into a Story much to Large for Him
Yatagarasu*
She sat one a branch made out of a delicate rose,
a solitary creature that sang of nothing but her woes,
despite the fact that her feathers were that of a crows.
He sat beside her on the smallest stem,
that coward beneath the cherry's condemn,
yet in his eyes she was nothing less than a priceless gem.
Two crows,
one above one below,
A poor flower trying to grow,
strong and steady and slow.
She had feathers made of the greatest red,
a solitary creature with a single head,
despite the secret that went unsaid.
He had feathers made of the blackest of nights,
that coward against the blinding white,
yet in his feathers was every colour and array of light.
Two crows,
one red one black.
A poor flower trying to grow,
between the crossroads in a crack.
She fell the night when the sun had finally set,
a solitary creature that was covered in tears and wet,
despite the fact her beautiful feathers had rusted over with sweat.
He was crushed beneath her overbearing load,
that coward his blood did mix with hers as it flowed,
yet his heart and hers began to echo as they slowed.
Two crows,
both dead.
A poor flower trying to grow,
Crushed and torn like a thread.
She had red feathers as beautiful as sunlight,
He had black feathers that ate everything in sight.
A solitary creature crushed into another,
that coward soon became one with her – a mother.
Despite their lack of live or love,
Yet a new little one was born as innocent as a dove.
Two crows,
now one.
A poor flower trying to grown,
its life eaten by this sun.
It stood with two heads and four beady eyes,
Something horrible yet beautiful with four wings of same size,
Even though it defied everything it raises its body and flies.
It stood on three legs covered by pale skins,
Something horrible put together like inseparable twins,
A creature with no relation to any of its kin's.
One creature,
defying all nature intended.
Red feathers being devoured by black its most notable feature,
and yet somehow such colours blended.
One creature,
flew towards its own goal.
Red feathers being devoured by black its most notable feature,
a child it followed with no desire but to eat his soul.
One creature,
devoured its prey.
Red feathers being devoured by black its most notable feature,
and yet was eaten by the child during child's play.
*Yatagarasu appears in slightly different forms counting on the culture you research. The name "Yatagarasu" applies to the Japanese version which is a giant black crow/raven (counting on what story you read) with three legs. In the Chinese version the bird is red/"the colours of the sun" so I've sort of combined the two as well as changing the overall appearance of this particular Yatagarasu.
Authors Note: Hey guys! Its been a long time since I've written/uploaded anything. This is just a story I'm thinking about working on on the side since I've fallen in love with K (and Yata) so much. Therefore I figured that I would just let my imagination go with this. As a result I cannot guarantee when I will update, even more so since I'm supposed to be working on other stories (shhhhhhhh) and my goal is to finish the story before I actually upload it (so that I'm not dropping it all the time). As a result this poem is really just a preview of what might come to light one day. Hope you enjoyed it!
