Whatever category says, it's wrong. I just picked it 'cause nothing else was close. New idea by me not based on any book or Tv Show. Completely new story about an NYPD detective who lost his left eye serving our military in Iraq who returns to NY & NYPD.

Chapter One: Revelations

John Marks opens his eyes to see a Hospital Room, & finds that he's in a Bed. "What The-" He starts to ask, when he's stopped by the sound of joyous yelling. "Oh my God! He's waking up", says a voice says that sounds like his ex-wife Marla. "What happened?', He asks, "Last thing I remember, I was with my squad in Fallujah, & a shell struck. Where Am I?" "In New York, John", says a voice that sounds like his father Ephrem. Suddenly he looks up for the first Time, & sees that his room is packed with family & Friends. But something is wrong he notices. "Why can't I see out of my left Eye? He asks, panicked. He looks up again to see his partner on the NYPD, Sgt. Wallace Donells, from before he joined the Army. "Shrapnel got you in the left eye, John, It's gone", Wallace says. He looks around again & sees his brothers, Aaron & Dirk. "Where's Dallas" John asks (referring to his other brother, John's twin). "He's in Afghanistan, He was deployed last week. ", Ephrem says. "I'm medically discharged, right?", John asks. "Yeah", his dad says. "Damn", John mutters. "So, when do I get back to work?", John asks Wallace. "I was wondering when you'd ask", Wallace smiles grimly," But I got no control over that. You've gotta get med clearance & a recommendation from Capt. Goldstein (Head of John's former precinct) & then go before the Reinstatement Committee." "So expect me back by next month.", John says grinning. "Alright I'd love to talk more, but I can barely keep my eyes open, so I'm gonna hit the hay." John says.
