-1 Under Cover of Darkness
A flicker of light lit the grey twilight as Spot Conlon struck a match to light a cigarette. Taking a deep breath of the smoke, he dropped the used match and leant back against the building behind him. Spot let out a terse sigh as she emerged from her apartment in a faded brown jacket and red scarf. He straightened and smirked as he asked, "Where ya been?"
She gestured to the basket she held in her left hand. "Mama had to finish a difficult piece." Spot raised an eyebrow in amusement as he finished off his cigarette and ground it out. Smirking once again, he offered her his arm in jest. "Where to?"
Spot pressed his lips firmly to her soft ones. Snaking his arms around her slender waist, he pulled her closer until she was flush against him. One callused hand brushed softy against the side of her face, and he swore he felt her face burn, with what he didn't know. He felt his lips twist into a wry smile, and almost moaned when she pulled away and broke the kiss.
Eyeing her, he croaked," What the hell was that for?" His blue eyes bored fiercely into her brown ones. Her eyes narrowed in thought before she moved forward to meet his lips with her own, twining her arms around his neck.
Spot froze, startled that she would be so bold before he began to return her kiss hotly. She sagged against him as she gave way to his kiss, his tongue grappling with her own. They finally parted for air and he sighed.
"You should be heading in, Your folks'll be worried." Spot broke off to lightly kiss her. "Goodnight Sarah." Sarah smiled at him before slipping away into her apartment, leaving Spot to begin the long trek back to Brooklyn.
