I slowly open my burdened eyes,
As sunlight enters from the window.
And the first thing I see is you,
Mirroring myself on the wall so slow,
Turning your head to see me,
Just the way I look at woe.
I am not a piece of nothing,
You are shed to pity on,
I have more dignity than you say,
But you give no credit,
Neither in day nor in dawn.
You make me question,
Am I why you exist?
Or vice versa?
I look at you in awe as you mock my every flaw.
You seem to have so much self hatred,
Always trying to taunt me,
So dark, so evil,
Makes me want to flee.
But you follow wherever I go
And, just when darkness takes over,
You hide in silence, like a foe.
And yet!
It is always you who,
Rejoices with my joy,
Always you who,
Smiles within my smile.
Always you who fight by side,
And always you who seeks me when I hide.
Everyone seems to enter into my life,
Just to walk out again.
But you would not leave me.
Or would you too?
I fear one day the sun would rise,
But you wouldn't wake
And I'd be left alone in
Miserable hate.
Mock me all you want,
Just don't go away.
…because it's always you
Who finds me when I hide,
And only you who's there
When I cry.
