Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters 'hinted' at below (Sirius and Harry). Nor do I the plot I have based this poem on. That all belongs to J.K. Rowling. I have used artistic license to change a bit here and there, but all in all, it basically follows the books.
One Night
They took him away, that autumn night.
The boy with the jet-black hair
And lightning bolt that danced on his brow,
A boy with skin so fair.
I was reborn, on that fateful night,
To a mother of grief and despair,
I was born again in the darkest dark.
A man you've learned to beware.
Ten years started that night,
Ten years of living hell.
A lifetime spent with-in my head,
A pit into which I fell.
But now I am free! What a glorious night
The air so clean and fresh.
Never again shall I venture back,
To the smell of rotten flesh.
Off I lope, to the dark of the night,
She embraces me, her child
And carries me far, through feilds and wood,
Through places both tame and wild.
Author's Note: I haven't finished it yet, thought I had, but decided I hadn't.
