Overprotective Best Friends
Juvia was really nervous.
It was her very first date with Gray, he was taking her out to this fancy resturant. When the girls at Fairy Tail heard about it, they squealed, dragged the water mage to Fairy Hills and proceeded to doll her up.
And so, here she was, standing at the entrance of the guild, dressed in a lovely blue silk gown, silver heels, a coral necklace and her hair and beautiful updo, courtesy of Cancer.
And then, Gray arrived.
He was dressed formally in a suit and looked even more handsome than ever. It took all of Juvia's willpower (and pride) to not squeal and swoon and hug him to death.
Gray did a double take when he saw how exquisite Juvia looked that night. He gulped and tried to keep cool (no pun intended).
"Hey, Juvia," Gray said, trying to sound as casual as possible. "You, uh, look nice tonight."
'Idiot!' he cursed himself angrily inside. 'That sounded so lame!'
"T-thank you, G-Gray-sama," Juvia stammered. "Y-you look very handsome, too."
From the bar, Mirajane squealed. "They're so cute!"
"Ice-head."
Juvia and Gray were interrupted as Gajeel stepped upto them. A dark aura was looming over him and he looked especially scary that evening.
"What?" Gray asked a little impatiently.
There was a crash as Gajeel caught hold of Gray and slammed him against the wall.
Juvia simply watched in speechless shock.
"What the heck, man?!" Gray demanded as he tried to free himself.
Gajeel leaned in close, and Gray resisted the urge to shudder. "Listen up, meatball. I'm gonna say this once and only once. You hurt Juvi, and you're dead.
"Try anything with her and you'll get a knuckle sandwich.
"Make her cry and you'll wish you'd never been born.
"Be anything less than a perfect boyfriend and I'll murder you."
"And I'll help."
Gray's eyes widened to the size of saucers as Lucy stepped up, cracking her whip dangerously and glowering at him.
"Just so we're clear." Gajeel stated as he dropped Gray and walked off.
Lucy smiled sweetly at Juvia. "Have fun now, 'kay?"
The entire guild, shaken at what they just witnessed, were silent.
Juvia turned nervously to Gray.
"So, um, Gray-sama, how about that date?"
