A/N: This is set in seventh year when James and Lily are dating.
It is a warm summer's day, but it has the smell of an approaching storm, something that I loved.
I sat on a flat rock that overlooked the crystal blue lake, the shimmering rays that the sun cast down on the lake looked like silver fishes.
I glanced down and reread the poem I had written:
His eyes are as brown as hot chocolate by the fire,
His hair is the colour of a black board,
His golden heart suited to Gryffindor,
He's simply divine
and all mine!
"Evans" someone whispered close to my ear. I shrieked and threw my fist back.
"Argh, Lily!"
That voice sounded familiar, I turned around.
"James!" I exclaimed "I'm so sorry!"
I could hear shouts of laughter from a few meters away, his friends.
James was rolling around on the ground.
"Argh, my balls" he screamed while his eyes were tearing up. "Precious Potter jewels, so much pain."
I rolled my eyes and pointed my wand at the said area.
"Poena reparare"
He stopped rolling around and screaming, sat up and narrowed his eyes at me.
"You didn't remove my balls did you?"
I rolled my eyes for a second time today; I tended to do that when I was around James Potter.
"No, Maybe if you paid attention in charms, you would know it's a pain remover spell" I said exasperated.
"Oh well, I don't pay attention, I'm to busy staring at you" he said defensively, a touch flirtatiously.
I turned the same colour as my hair, how terribly cliché but true, one of the occupational hazards of being a red head, I suppose.
"Maybe you need a tutor" I suggested.
"Are you up to the job?"
"What about the third floor corridor cupboard, at 8pm?" I asked.
"You're on" he said, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek and he walked back up to the castle.
I sighed in contentment, gathered my notebook and headed for the castle.
Meanwhile, A few meters away
"Moony, time for your brilliance at disillusionment charms" Sirius said, his eyes glinting mischievously.
"Oh, I don't know, doesn't that seem a little stalkerish" Remus replied, as he undid the charm on them that allowed them to listen to James and Lily's conversation.
"Nah, it'll be fine" reassured Sirius.
8:30pm
(Remus and Sirius's POV)
"There on the map, James and Lily's dots" said Remus, pointing to a spot on the map about eight feet away from where they were.
"Let's go closer" Sirius suggested.
"Oh, James, James, you did it all wrong, NO JAMES! Don't nibble on it, do this. That's better!" groaned Lily.
Remus and Sirius exchanged disgusted looks.
"Do you know a curse to make your brain burn and dribble out your ears?" Sirius asked Remus.
"Don't you think I would have cast it by now, to spare us the pain of remebering that" Remus replied.
With that, they both bolted to the bathroom to throw up.
Inside the closet
(Lily's POV)
"Thank god I fixed it, I didn't want to go around with a bloody carrot on my face instead of a nose" I said.
"Suited your hair" James said cheekily.
I wacked him on the head for being such an insensitive jerk.
"It's a curse being a red head, you should sympathise, not pick fun" I sulked.
"The only reason why I couldn't do the charm was because your beauty makes my palms go all sweaty and my brain all muddled" James said.
My face heated up like a hot plate.
I really hate being a red head.
Love it? Hate it? Any suggestions? Leave a review :)
