A/N: Just a random idea that came to me earlier today, it's been awhile since I wrote a TRC story. There are spoilers for the Celes arc here, so don't read unless you've gotten that far in the manga. I think that it's pretty obvious from the description but who knows. Also, sorry for any mistakes, I wrote this on the spur of the moment without any references so I hope I got everything right…

I look up, gaze going ever onwards until it landed on that tiny window, so far away, through which was the room my brother was imprisoned in. For what seemed like the millionth time, I place my hands on the wall, digging into microscopic cracks looking for leverage and start the slow agonizing climb. I keep going, past the dull red smears of past tries, past the endless cracks, past each dull gray brick. I block out all surrounding sounds, block out the numbing cold, block out everything but the wall under my fingers. I grasp at every crack, struggling to keep from falling, fingers whose feeling had long since been lost scramble upward.

All of a sudden my fingers slip, and I slid back down the unforgiving wall, already bloody fingers suffering more abuse as they scrape against the brick. I let out a small cry of pain as I land atop the pile of corpses and cradle my sore hands, wincing as the biting cold wind blew against them. I look back up at the wall and saw that today I made it up further than I ever had before, yet it still seemed like I had made no progress. There was still a daunting distance left to climb before I could reach my brother. I began to wonder if I would ever make it, if I would ever be able to see my brother again, if we would ever be able to escape.

I shake my head to get the negative thoughts out of my mind. I will make it, I will see him, and we will escape.

I will save him.

I will save Fai.

As I said, just a random idea that hit me earlier today, although I am actually quite pleased with how it came out. And yes I will eventually update "What Lies Behind Those Blue Eyes". I'm just having extreme writers block on it...

Also, if anyone was wondering, I did name this story after the Pink Floyd album "The Wall". I was watching the movie earlier and I thought it would be a good name for the story.
