What happens when a new student at lights school shows up and at the same time a new killer is on the loose?

Light yagime is your regular student nothing more, nothing less. He has the looks, girls, money, and the charm. Not to mention the intellect that he flaunts around. He even has the body to become a model. And the parents to support him, tell him he'll do fine in whatever he does. But light just can't have that, no he want's to become a police offer like his dad. He wants people to know who he is, to look up in the history books one day and know that he was responsible for helping clear the streets of Tokyo and the rest of the world. He wants them to know he's there and he'll be watching until he dies. So when he finds a notebook that allows him to kill he takes it. Now, three weeks later he has the notebook and is killing criminals. This is the story begins.
