A Continued Story for Rose...

Chapter 1

She past the Statue of Liberty. The rain was pouring over her face and was making her feeling even more depressed. This wasn't the ship she had grown to love. This wasn't the way she wanted to end her voyage. Alone, sad and angry. Rose looked around. Complete strangers were around her. Sure didn't know everyone onboard the ship but she knew of people. She had no-one. She missed Jack so much. They were going to start a new life together she new they would have done. She put her hand inside her coat pocket and touched something she hadn't expected to be there. The Heart of the Ocean, sparkling in her hand. She wondered for a while and then realized the Carpathia had docked into the New York harbour. There were thousands of people there. Photographs, grieving relatives and people who just interested to see what was happening. The photographers were barging past people eager to ask anyone who would give them the time of day for an interview and a picture. She stepped off the Carpathia, looking around at what to do next. She needed a place to stay, a job and to earn money. She needed to re-build herself, she wasn't quite sure how. Her mother, servants and even Cal always looked after. They did everything for her. She now had to make her own way in life. She was so thankful she had found Jack. He had taught her the meaning of life. She was going to fulfil what Jack had made her promise to she'd do. She stepped onto the docks in deep contemplation. Her heart was pounding in her chest and she felt sick and scared.

Chapter 2

At least a couple hours had passed and Rose continued wondering around New York. What on earth am I going to do? She questioned herself. The waxing sun rose in the sky and the clear blue sky circled around the city. She was peering in any window that would give her some hope. Then there was a small café at the end of the street. A dinky little place called

The Robertson's Family Café. There was a notice in the window asking for waitresses and waiters. She obviously had no experience of the of work life, especially while it was by herself. She wasn't necessarily taught all of these types of places in finishing school. She was taught how to be a good mother, wife and how to do all the necessary housework. She went inside the café. She thought to herself that it was a very cute café. Only a few tables were spaced out in a very small space. She looked around to ask anyone about the job available

"Excuse me I was wondering about the job application in the window" she asked this gentleman of an elderly age. He had a scruffy beard and he was wearing quite an old waistcoat, a white blouse and dark trousers.

"Ahhh yes... umm are you ok miss you look terribly pal".

"Well I guess I don't feel..." Rose then went into complete blackness.

A while later Rose very slowly opened her eyes. She was curious as to where she was. She sat up quickly and realized that no-body was there. She started panicking and went downstairs. It was quite an old house with crickety stairs. She turned round the bottom of the stairs and saw a man and a woman sitting at a round table. They looked in deep conversation until they realized she had creped down the stairs.

"Hello dear how are you feeling, you gave us a bit of a fright", replied the woman.

"Where am I", Rose asked. "Well dear you fainted; you suddenly turned all pale and slightly panicked".

"We took you hear, this is our upstairs of the café", replied the younger looking man. "Don't worry love you're perfectly safe: would you like a cup of tea"

"Yes thank you that's kind of you." "We didn't even catch you're name love." asked the young gentleman "I apologise, its Rose, Rose Dawson"...
