Beneath the Full Moon.

The moon was full that night, she would remember later.

Martha sat alone, outside the makeshift tent she had managed to construct an hour ago. It was around midnight on Month 5, specifically 131 days after the Master took over. Martha laughed at that, as it seemed like Day 1 was only yesterday.

She had come a long way since then, and not just geographically. If someone had told her, all that time ago, that she would end up walking the world, telling stories about a man who travels time in an odd blue box, she would have laughed in their face. But here she was.

Martha looked out at the moon. That was where it had all started, of course. On the moon. With the Judoon. She smiled at the memory. How…fun it had all seemed back then. How amazing. How great.

It was because she was with him. The Doctor. The most amazing man she had ever met. With him, everything was like an adventure. Even when she went home, he still managed to find trouble! That was the sort of man he was. And she loved him for it. He could be the only man she will ever love, has ever loved.

He was such an amazing kisser, too.

She smirked at that. Truth be told, she had never worked out what that was all about. Their first meeting and their first kiss, all on the same day. Well, their first and their only kiss. He said it was a genetic transfer, but there had to be more to it than that. That much passion, just to distract some rhinos? No, something had happened between them that night. She just had to figure out what.

Martha wondered where he was, what he was doing. Well. She knew he was on the Valiant, but nothing more than that. In five months, a lot of things might have happened. The Master could have done a lot to him, to all of them.

Her mum. Her dad. Her sister. Jack. The Doctor.

She couldn't bear to think about them. She knew she was lucky to be down on the Earth. To have escaped the Master-for a while at least. His guards had been pursuing her since New York, but she had managed to shake them off. For now. She had a feeling her luck was going to run out pretty soon, and when that day came, not even a perception filter would help her. That would be it. It would be over.

Martha knew she wouldn't sleep tonight, for the third time that week. Oh well. If need be, she could always nap in the truck. And then she could have the Nightmare again. So fun. Isn't that life of a wanted criminal so glamorous?

The Nightmare had been haunting her sleep for a while now. She could never remember what was about, exactly, just that she woke up every morning sweating. Or woke up at midnight, depending on when she had managed to go to sleep. It scared her slightly, not knowing. Not knowing the darkest fears that lay at the back of her subconscious. She didn't even know what scared her. Did that even make sense? She had no idea.

Martha sighed, lying back on the grassy hill. Above her, in the sky, clouds barely covered the Toclafane that were flitting about in the sky above. They didn't see her, of course. The perception filter took care of that. It seemed to get stronger as time went by. Good old Doctor and his gadgets. She knew he wouldn't let her down, and, in turn, she was trying not to let him down. He trusted her. That was all that mattered. He was good like that.

Good old Doctor, she thought, before looking up to the large, round moon once more. Good old Doctor.

Oh Doctor…

Where are you?

Author's note-Poor Martha! Anyway, I've been meaning to put this up for a while, but I lost it for about a month. *blushes*
