Kuroko believes there is importance in comfort. The love that never falters when it counts is the one he wouldn't mind falling into. Once in his life he swore something like was creeping into his life. He thought he had a bond that would never fail.

Dark blue was never his color. Kuroko learns this in the most painful way possible.

Kuroko believes comfort is crucial in a relationship, but Kuroko no longer thinks such things are relevant to himself. He gives up. He gives up, but no one told Kagami.

No one informed him that Kuroko had no intention feeling at ease with someone else. No one told him that he couldn't make Kuroko smile or laugh at inappropriate times. Kagami isn't supposed to mend Kuroko in such a short amount of time. Kagami helps Kuroko with a determined smile and doesn't even know 's Kagami that takes Kuroko's hand in times of stress. It's Kagami who takes everything Kuroko says to heart. They don't falter. They don't break. They fight and tease, cursing each others names when they have no idea what the other person is doing, but they never bend enough to shatter.

When Kuroko sits alone in his room, piles of finished books surrounding him, he won't dwell on negatives but instead his mind will flicker to images of a beast like boy that never intends to let him down. He will smile, ones that he will never allow others to see, and sigh with comfort.

When Kuroko notices Kagami glance his way every other minute on their walk to the usual eating spot, he'll let himself hope. He will let Kagami think the color on his cheeks is due to the bitter winter weather. Kuroko will wonder how the one person that flusters him the most can be the perfect remedy. He will focus on Kagami's faults so he won't fall too fast. But even those only makes his heart squeeze in the most euphoric way.

Electric sparks from brushed hands will cause Kuroko to shiver.

Kuroko believes there is importance in comfort. The love that never falters when it counts is the one he wouldn't mind falling into. This is the love he currently finds himself falling into.

Instead of intense, painful light, the color red fits Kuroko just right.
