The Case of The Severed Hand

*After being released by Willa, I put on the doctor's lab coat and left the room with Eric and her. I shoved the doctor's severed hand into my sleeve and coat pocket to avoid suspicion. Eric had Willa rip off the doctor's hand so that we could use her fingerprints to gain access into the more secretive parts of the vampire research facility and find our escape. With Eric now disguised as a guard, Willa still in her prison uniform, and me dressed as a doctor, we carefully made our way down the hall with me struggling to keep up. The Hep-V was setting in and I was feeling dizzy and sick. This was nothing like the sharp, burning sting of silver poisoning. I could feel this virus weakening me, shutting me down from the inside. Eric told me to stay strong as the three of us walked and approached the door. I forced every fiber of my being to work against this dreadful virus. I was feeling sick all over. My vision was blurry, my coordination was off, and all of me was hurting so much. I took the severed doctor's hand from out of my sleeve and pocket and tried to open the door with it, yet not fully aware of what I was doing, I dropped the hand on the ground. Luckily Eric picked it up just as a guard was walking by and he opened the door. As the three of us made our way into the doorway, Willa caught me before I collapsed and held me up while Eric opened the next door with the severed hand. Still holding me up, Willa and I remained in the doorway waiting for Eric.*
