THUMP
CHAPTER 1
Thump…
Thump…
Thump…
"Bell! Ah!" God, Alice's soprano voice practically broke the glass vases. I rolled on to my stomach groaning, because any moment now, that pixie is going to pound my ass. The door slammed open. Here we go again.
"Bella." She said smugly, wow she's calm right now, wonderful.
"Bella."
"Hmm..."
"I have a vision." She said tugging away the covers. I held on to them so tight but for someone so small she can be so annoying. Then she suddenly pulled them and surprisingly there was no sun, just the hazy fog of September.
But it was still cold.
I sighed really loud so she can hear my discontent. Alice's visions turn horribly wrong in the end although she is very perceptive and precise most of the time with miniature ordeals, but when it comes to the hardcore stuff such as big events she assumes things will happen well. They turn out absolutely wrong. But to not crush this poor girl's wonderful morning, I'll play into it a little.
"What is it?" I ask sounding a least bit interested.
"Well, Rose and I as you know will be attending a Dior fashion show tomorrow night and as Rosalie's adoptive sister they expect you to be with her, in girl bondings such as this."
"Whose 'they'?"
"Well the press, of course." This is just great. As much as I love Rosalie, her mother and father, and how grateful I am for them adopting me ever since my mother and father passed during that incident I do wish I wasn't drawn into this life so quickly. I'm almost eighteen bound to go to attend college I just have to wait until the semester starts in early spring then I can finally attend the university I've always wanted to attend, Brown University.
After my parents had passed I managed to get money from the government because of my father's servitude of the country, but I will most definitely put that for college and my other needs. After two months the Hales managed to put me under their custody until I turn eighteen, which is in a week. But since I've practically known them my whole life I was privileged to stay with them as long as I wish, so I would be coming home on the weekends or school days off.
However Rosalie isn't in Hampton right now, she left for New York two nights ago for her early head-shots, it's bad enough that I see my best friend on TMZ daily, but to see myself online was the worse.
"I don't think that's a good idea, Alice… you know what a big mess I am and I'm a very camera shy type of person, so I don't think... "
"Bella," she said glaring, "Don't you trust me on this? It will be fine. It will also be good for Rosalie's image to make her more of a family gal." That did sound good; the press only had seen Rosalie's mother and father once. And now they think she's the party girl or slut image now, because of the constant drinking and clubbing. But I guess she doesn't care. But as a friend I'll help out anyway I could.
"Whatever." It wasn't a yes or a no but I'll go with whatever she thinks it was, just to make her happy and help Rose. But knowing Alice she'll be that smug never frowning gal because she's so optimistic. This was the show she's been excited about for months, and the show she won't stop talking about for months. And if I ruin it for her, Ill owe her for the rest of my life. I haven't been to New York in months and it's only a few hours away it's and , besides it'll be fun to go to New York for a while get away from the suburbs. It'll be a good experience I hope.
"Bye Lillian, Greg." I said as I kissed the parents goodbye, and load the suitcases in the back of the car.
"Bye Bella, and remember have fun."
"Tell Rosalie we said hello and to call home soon."
"I will." Then we waved goodbye as me and Alice drove away.
