Three kids later
"But mom, I don't want to," 9 year old Sarah complained as her mother pushed her towards the stairs. Mary-Lynette was carrying 4 year old Amelia in her arms.
"Just do as I say," she told Sarah. Mary-Lynette looked over at 14 year old Jesse was sitting on the couch, watching sports. "Jesse bedroom now," she said. He sighed, stood up and turned off the television before walking up the stairs.
"Night mom," he called.
"Night sweetie," she replied before looking back at Sarah, she was pulling the look that she had gotten from her father; the stubborn look.
"Sarah Mary Claire Redfern, listen to your mother," Ash called from the doorway. Mary-Lynette turned towards him and spoke softly, "Thank you". Ash smiled and picked Sarah up.
"Say sorry to your mother and I'll read you a story," Ash promised. Mary-Lynette smiled. She knew both of them would do anything for their kids.
"I'm sorry mom," Sarah muttered sleeping, curling up in her father's arms. Ash kissed his wife's forehead before walking up the stairs, taking Sarah into her bedroom knowing that she'd be asleep before he opened the book. Mary-Lynette followed him up the stairs to go put their youngest child into bed.
