Love?
Azula didn't believe in it.
Surely mothers had strong feelings toward their children, but love? And then there were people who claimed to feel it with another person.
Physical attraction, that's all it was. A strong desire to feel as if someone cared about you or your thoughts and feelings.
People regarded her as cruel, unfeeling, and murderous.
Well, so what?
Fear was the only true way to have absolute control. If she wanted something, she would do anything to get it. In any case, their 'love' was only to easy to destroy. A seed of doubt here, and miscommunication there, and that would be it. Hearts so crushed they might never trust again.
If that's what it took.
However, the power she wielded over those beneath her was much too solid to ever break. People were simply too afraid to do anything else. It was funny really. The very concept was almost as ridiculous as the idea that the Avatar would ever defeat her father. Azula almost smirked.
And besides, maybe she was a bit afraid. Azula frowned at the thought. But what had she to fear? Perhaps that was the power that 'love' had. It used fear almost as well as she did. People would be scared of it at first, scared to begin, but then they would be scared to finish.
Azula pulled Ty Lee's sleeping body closer, and buried her face in her hair, almost-smiling to herself.
But Azula didn't believe in love, so what did it matter?
because they're slowly working their way to being my OTP.
(one true pairing, lol)
