This thought'd just been bouncing around in my mind for awhile, so I thought I'd let it out. Kinda drabble-y. Anyways, enjoy!

Everyone in the auditorium had their eyes focused on her. They watched in adept fascination as her petite but lithe body spun and twirled and moved. They all saw the clear beauty on the stage before them- not just in the dancing, but in the woman before them. She was flawless, and the way her body moved was indescribable- it was beauty in motion. Everyone could see the look of pure concentration on her perfect face, her brown eyes closed, a plump pink lip between her teeth, as she swayed and moved with the music, her long dark hair creating a halo around her head.

But only one person in the audience could see the truth. He, too, saw the stunning woman in front of him. But to him, she was not a woman at all. She was an angelic girl, a graceful swan with broken wings. No one else could see the way she lost herself- no one else knew this wasn't a routine. This was pure Bella, the music moving her like nothing else in the world ever could. Dancing was her escape, the one thing that gave her meaning. No, the audience couldn't see this. They couldn't see that she was the love of his life, that he'd abandoned her in her time of need, when she was no more than a lost, hurt and confused teenage girl. They were oblivious to the fact that her life had been horrendous- a rollercoaster of painful twists and turns that led her to today. They saw a dancer. She was no different from the rest. The same as the three girls off to the left wing, giggling in their pink tutus.

The truth, well, they just didn't know. They'd never know. They wouldn't know that this once vulnerable angel was now a strong, confident, stubborn woman who didn't need anyone. That she'd put a sheild around her heart to keep everyone out, and that she didn't even open up to herself. She was forever locked in a world of no feeling. She was numb, but that was how she liked it. They'd never know that she hadn't cried in 9 years, 7 months and thirteen days- the day that he left her.

They wouldn't care, either. But that thought didn't bother him. Someday, someone would. Someday, her prince would come. He'd tear down the walls that kept her so carefully guarded and he'd prove to her that love was selfless. He'd show her she was beautiful. That she was amazing and smart and fascinating. He'd prove that trusting someone didn't always end in pain and a broken heart. He didn't have to hope that this prince would come- he knew he would. She was irresistable. He had hoped, at one point, that he could be that prince. But those days were long gone. He knew that he would never- could never- deserve her. But she deserved happiness. And she deserved love. With the final notes of the song, her body flung itself up, landing in pirouette, and sinking to the ground.

As the crowd erupted in applause, Edward Cullen took one long look at the love of his life, and then turned and walked away from her. Forever.

Please comment people! :) xo.
