Stranger at my Window

A/N: Is it fair to say this is my first Assassin's Creed fanfic? I have one for AC2, but not the first one so please go easy on me for the first couple chapters! I'm still trying to get a grip on Altair's (cold) attitude and everything.

BUT! Without further ado, here is Stranger at my Window! Please enjoy : ) And feel free to review (PLEASE?)

"I already said no Eliade. Why would you want to waste over ten thousand to go on a trip?"

"But Dad, this is a once in a life time chance! Plus, it's not like you need to worry about me; I'm turning twenty-two in a week!" She was tired. She didn't want to argue with her father, but she wanted to go on this trip. Her father sighed, looking over the slip once again.

"It just seems like a whole lot for one trip." Eliade looked at her dad, almost frowning.

"Well look at it this way," she took the papers from his grasp and sat next to him on the sofa, "you'd be making your eldest daughter happy."

"You said that about college as well."

"Daddy! College is needed in this world to get anywhere, and you of all people should know that. I mean you are a C.E.O of one of the biggest hospital chains in North America."

It was true. Nothing cost too much for the Bentzer's and in this economy, no one much cared any more. Money was money. Greed was taking over America, and it was moving fast to spread over seas.

"I just don't think it will be safe right now. What if a war starts while you're over there?"

"Dad, there hasn't been a war for over three years."

"You never know with those damned towel heads."

"Daddy!"

"I'm sorry sweetie, but you know how I feel about those people."

Eliade looked at her father with sorrow filled eyes.

"Look at it this way Dad: in twenty-one days I'll be back here, at home. I'll only have twenty-one days of fun. It's my summer break anyways."

Her father sighed, setting down his coffee and leaning forward to grab the sheet explaining the trip.

"Fine. But if I hear anymore whining from my favorite daughter then your cell phone and car are gone, you hear me?"

"Yes Dad. Oh thank you so much!"

His graying hair shimmered in the light above them as he sighed the sheet for the trip. Even though she was in college, and almost twenty-two, the school said if you weren't over twenty-five you needed parent permission to go.

"Yes, yes. Am I going to hear the 'you don't know how much this means to me' speech?"

"Only Elisa and Marty do that dad. I'm just saying thank you and you won't regret it." Hearing Elisa's name made her father flinch in an awkward way.

"Here, now go. I have an important meeting tomorrow and I need my sleep."

"Of course." Eliade got up from her spot on the sofa and kissed his cheek good night. He smiled lightly at his daughter as she closed the double doors softly behind her.

"What am I going to do with that spoiled child?" He chuckled to himself and got up from his spot as well, moving over to the bed. Alone.
