I'm tired
"I'm tired... I'm tired of fighting.... I'm tired of being chosen to defend everyone... I can't do it... I can't watch as I slay creatures that were never given a chance to be free..." Link sighed as he layed his head on Sheik's chest. The two of them were laying down on a grassy hill, looking at the stars. Link was still feeling guilty for Dark Link's death, so Sheik made him speak of what his heart felt. He listened to every word Link said, trying to find a way to give him at least a moment of peace.
Sheik moved some of Link's hair out of his face and said "sometimes... death can be a gift, rather than a curse" Link jumped to his feet and barked "how could you say that?!" Sheik remained calm as he replied "Dark Link was pulled out of his world just to fight you... he had no free will, no actual body he could call human... just a shadow with no substance... just a tortured soul with a heartless master... do you understand now... Link?" Link fell to his knees as he fought back against inevitable tears. His voice cracked as he said "yes... but I... I..." Sheik sat up and put a hand on Link's cheek, He looked into his eyes sadly as he asked "you loved him, didn't you?" Link didn't respond, he just layed his head on Sheik's shoulder as he gave in to his tears. He whispered, not meant to be heard by Sheik, "he was my family... he was my twin in the broken mirror... I'm all alone again..." Sheik hugged link lovingly and whispered "you aren't alone. I'm here. I swear, I will never leave you.... I love you... Link" Sheik started to nibble on Link's ear. Link moaned and asked "what are you...?" Sheik chuckled lightly and said "I'm going to do whatever it takes to see you smile once more... will you resist?" Link shook his head. Sheik smiled as the two men indulged in the pleasures of the night.
