Who Would've Thought?

Another one shot or drabble, whatever you want to call it, for all my darling people out there!

Disclaimer: I do not own anything except my imagination.

The Doctor sighed as he heard Amy and Rory talking in the bedroom down the hall. Believe me, he cared for them dearly, but, he would appreciate it if they would wait to do that someplace else.

It was rather awkward afterward when they came out for a breather, and the Doctor made sure he was long gone by then.

Who would've thought the Doctor would leave his own TARDIS because of two human beings. If you had told the Doctor in 2004 that he was letting people do that in his time machine he would have laughed at them and rubbed a banana in their faces, but things change, people change, he changed...all because of a pink and yellow girl.

His hearts ached as thought of Rose, his Rose. He loved all of his companions and held them close to his hearts, but Rose was different. He loved her in a different way, in a, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, kind of way.

But Rose was gone, taken from him. He almost lost her so many times...and now he would never be able to see that smile, all tongue and teeth, never feel how their bodies molded together when he held her close to him, feel how her hand fit in his, like they were made for each other. Never again would he experience any of these, because she was locked away in a parallel universe with someone who was, but wasn't him.

He tried so hard to forget about her sometimes, when the pain became too much, but then he would remember all the good times they had together. Charles Dickens, Christmas Dinner the apple grass in New New York.

He wondered if she was happy, was the meta-crisis treating her right. These were the thoughts that haunted him when he finally got around to sleep. What would he be like if he had left her in that department store, would he still be all leather and big ears?

She was the best thing to ever happen to him, and that was saying something considering all his past companions.

Figuring it would be best to return to the TARDIS, he turned and started the walk back. Upon entering the TARDIS he noticed the Ponds were nowhere to be seen, so he quietly made his way down the corridor, pausing at the pink door with the red rose painted on it.

Leaning his forehead against the door, he breathed in deeply, allowing the tears to slide down his cheeks.

He would see her again, he vowed, he would see his pink and yellow human.

This is very short, very very short. Heads up! Reviews!
