Dan looked at Phil with a glisten in his eye as he put up some tinsel on a window frame. "Phil, how does this look?" "It looks amazing, now come help me with the tree. I have a few more ornaments to put up." "Okay." Dan started walking to his black haired friend as he had just finished putting up the tinsel.
Phil handed him a couple of ornaments as he put some on the pre-lit Christmas tree. The two men completed decorating the tree in a matter of minutes until Phil looked up and noticed something. "Dan, we don't have anything on the very top of the tree!" "Don't worry Phil, I have the angel. Do you want to put it on the top?" "Of course I do!" Phil squealed with excitement.
He grabbed the angel out of Dan's hands and tried to put it on top of their tree. Couldn't reach. He went on his tip-toes. Still couldn't reach. "Dan, do we have a ladder or a stepstool?" "Sorry, but we don't." "How about I just sit on your shoulders? Maybe then I can reach it." "Okay, but not for too long." Dan said with a smirk. Just then Phil climbed onto and sat on his best friend's shoulders and placed the angel on the top of their tree.
"P-P-Phillip…?" Dan stuttered while his bud climbed off of him and gazed at him. "Yeah, Daniel?" he said while he gazed into Dan's beautiful brown eyes. It was the first time in ages that they called each other by their full first names. "I, uh….uh…." "You can tell me anything, don't be afraid. I won't be mad or anything." His brown haired friend looked up and noticed something…..they were under the mistletoe.
"Phil, we are under the mistletoe…." said Dan while he looked into Phil's crystal blue eyes that were filled with wonder and love. "We are? Oh, wow!" said Phil with a smile. "Well, I think I am gonna go and make some-" he said until he was interrupted by something. Dan had leaned in and was kissing him, right then and there. Phil grabbed his friend's waist as Dan held his arms around his friend's neck.
They drifted apart about a minute later. "D-D-Dan…?" "Yes, Phil?"
"That was the best Christmas miracle anyone could ever ask for."
The End
