Warnings: Kind of spoilery for Season 7
Summary: When nothing else can hurt you, Dean knows family can always cut you to the quick.
The trick is this - to wrap plate armour of insouciance and cocky humour around yourself, so nothing hurts.
But some things (someone) always find the chinks in that bright shiny steel.
One way or another.
"Don't treat me like a child, Dean. It's Sam. Nobody calls me Sammy any more."
"I'm gonna to have a normal life."
"You're my big brother, I'd do anything for you."
"Don't lie to me again."
"I think you should go on without me. Go."
Watching Sam walking away, the knife slides past your guard again.
Looking down, you're kinda surprised you aren't bleeding.
