Disclaimer: I don't own Phineas and Ferb
It was a beautiful spring day. Phineas however, didn't seem to notice. He was lost in thought.
"Thinking about Isabella," Ferb asked in his British tone.
Phineas looked up surprised.
"Ferb hi," he said, "No I was just..."
"You were just thinking about Isabella," Ferb repeated interrupting him.
"N-no?"
"Are you asking me or telling me," Ferb asked, "Either way it's pointless because I know you're thinking about Isabella." Phineas sighed.
"Okay," he admitted, "I guess I'm maybe thinking about Isabella."
"No," Ferb said sarcastically
"You don't know what it's like," Phineas said, "You don't know how hard it is for me."
"I know that sitting around feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to do anything to remedy that situation," Ferb countered gently.
"Do you have any better ideas," Phineas asked.
"Yes. Yes I do," Ferb said, "Go see her."
Phineas laughed without humor.
"Sure," he said, "Dad would just love that."
"Phineas mom and dad had a fight with Isabella's mother," Ferb said, "That is their problem and it should not affect you and Isabella."
"Try explaining that to dad," Phineas said
Ferb sat down next to his brother.
"Look Ferb," Phineas said, "You're the best of the best. Suppose your old friend decided to try to get at the right place."
"I would be delighted," Ferb said, "But this isn't about me. It's not about Buddy. It's about you and it's about Isabella and frankly you're in worse shape then she is and she's in pretty bad shape without you."
"Do you really think..."
"I know," Ferb said, "This is a special circumstance. Dad is being a moron."
"Did you just call me a moron," Lawrence asked with a mixture of annoyance and ammusement as he came out
Ferb sighed.
"No. I said you're being a moron. There's a difference."
"How am I being a moron," Lawrence demanded.
"Dad he's just saying," Phineas began but was interrupted by Ferb
"By not letting Phineas see Isabella," Ferb answered, "I know that you're angry with her mother but Isabella is not her mother. It would be like me being angry with Julian because his sister was part of the crowd that picked on me."
"You weren't angry with anyone," Phineas pointed out.
"That's not the point," Ferb said, "The point is how would that be"
"Her mother cheated me in a business deal," Lawrence pointed out
"But she didn't," Ferb said.
"Her mother was rude to my wife," Lawrence pointed out
"But she wasn't," Ferb replied.
"Her mother-"
"Dad Phineas has been desolate without Isabella," Ferb said, "and I would think you, being the one who taught me everything I know would realize there are things that are more important then other things. In this case I think Phineas happiness should trump your desire to punish her Isabella's mother."
"Well okay," Lawrence said, "Isabella fine. Her mother, no way"
"Thank you dad," Phineas said hugging Lawrence.
