I got this idea after remembering somewhere out of the blue about Dib saying he was "abducted by aliens and they performed experiments on him" and from the later to be revealed fact that he was a Eugenically engineered super human.

Welcome, to the machine
Dib was calming down after another one of his accusations against Zim had failed, it seemed no matter how hard he tried he failed and this was eating away at him, he was on the rooftop of the Hi Skool eating lunch alone, Gaz couldn't join him because he ran away from home to follow Zim and try to foil his plans.
Dib the ever suspicious one though felt he was being watched and kept his guard up thinking it was Zim planning an attack what he didn't expect though was to become so tired after eating his lunch only then realizing his food was drugged then passing out.
Dib awoke sometime later in a room restrained he slowly opened his eyes to see his father hovering above him and he spoke.
"Welcome my son, welcome to the machine" his father said with a smile "where have you been?, it's all right we know where you've been"
Dib just stared at his father wondering what was going on, then his father began reading bio-scans and various medical reports.
"you've been in the pipe line filling in time, Provided with toys and scouting for boys"
he then looked over at Dib sadly saying something about his poor insane son and how it was his fault Dib not knowing anything about what was going on
he nodded and spoke again "you didn't like school and you know you're nobody's fool" then went to grab the sleeping gas gently placing the mask on Dib's face "so welcome... to the machine"
that was the last thing Dib heard before he drifted off into unconsciousness his mind wandering into the void and all his thoughts slowly halting.
Zim watched on calmly through one of his tiny spy devices thinking to himself about how the Dib human's own father would terminate his defect of a son, however he simultaneously admiring the man for his Irken strength of will and tactics knowing full well that this man was one to be watched closely.
The next day the class was informed of Dib's transfer mostly with cheering as the "crazy kid" was gone from their lives.
However not even Zim knew that Dib wasn't permanently dead... professor membrane worked on his defective creation using all the science he knew to improve upon the design both genetically and using cybernetics to enhance his "son" it would be several years before Dib returned but during the battle for earth he was ready.
