Ben and the cake

By: Amee Eliza

Ben looked straight at the cake. He sniffed it. The smell was chocolaty and sweet. He pinched a piece, unable to resist the temptation. What a lovely moist temptation to slide down your throat and hit your stomach with silent satisfaction.

Jacob's cabin was dark and Ben looked around to make sure Jacob wasn't watching.

The weird painting stood out to him. It was a picture of a little terrier dog. It wasn't exactly creepy but special in a lemon in your mouth sort of way.

The dust and the cobwebs slept around the cabin.

If only this Saturday could be preserved. Yet he knew it was lost to Jacob. To think of what he could be doing! What exactly could he be doing? Chess? With whom? A book? Already obsessed over books enough. Ben laughed at his own train of thought.

Well, whatever Jacob wanted he got.

Ben sat down and looked over to the lantern.

Ben opened the lantern and with desperate boredom pushed his fingers through the flame. He did it quickly, just as he had done as a boy. His fingers smelt all ashy and like rubber that had been burnt minutely.

"Jacob, where are you?" He called out like a child would call to his dog.

"Aide-moi." Jacob called out.

"Stop playing games!" Ben pleaded with sincerity.

"You ate my cake." Jacob told him.

"Yes, I couldn't help it." Ben chuckled.

"Now you must have another bite." Jacob said deeply.

Ben faltered then took another bite. Ben smiled a crumb fell to his chin and gave the A okay sign with his fingers.

"Good Ben." Jacob said approvingly.

"Have another."

Ben angrily obeyed. His hand was now sticky with the chocolate sauce.

"Eat." Jacob bade.

"No! No! No!" Ben yelled.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Jacob mocked like there was no use to protesting.

All of a sudden a white plate appeared on the aged wood table. And a piece of the cake was pushed on the plate by Jacob. Ben shook his head in disbelief.

"Eat the cake Ben! It is your destiny!"

Ben ate it.

Then he ate another.

Half the cake was gone and the sugar made Ben shake. His eyes were almost closed.

"Ben! Ben! Ben!" Jacob beckoned.

"Eat! Eat! Eat!"

Ben shoved his hand in the cake, his mouth open wide and his face spattered with cake grime, Ben shoved another piece in his mouth. Then his stomach lurched. He took off his shirt. He felt free and stumbled out of the cabin.

He barfed and fell to the serene earth. Then water fell on his head. He looked over and it was Jacob.

"I thought you needed cleaning Ben." Jacob said immaturely like a 2nd grader girl.

Ben gasped for air.

"I guess that will teach you not to take my cake." Jacob said with a grin.

Ben crawled away.

"I hate..." His voice trailed off.

Author's note: I was eating cake and I was inspired. I truly felt sick after writing this. Man, I just thought: "What did Jacob put Ben through?" I feel sorry about all the stuff Jacob had put Ben through. Read and Review!
