Title: Spilled Tea
Summary:- Their relationship is like tea, especially spilled tea. Zutara, very short.
I thought of this one morning when I woke up and I mean RIGHT when I woke up. Before I even opened my eyes my head went 'hmm… their relationship is like spilled tea'. Eventually it developed into this. I hope you guys enjoy it!
It sounds a little crazy at first but it really does make sense. Their relationship is like tea in so many ways.
Zuko claims not to like tea at all. To him it's just something that's there, something his uncle likes. He knocks it over and spills it on the floor. He says he doesn't want it. We all know he can't make it. But secretly he does like it. He might take a taste every now and then and then deny it later. But he does like it.
Katara won't turn down tea if it is offered to her. She takes a few cups but in all honesty, she does get sick of it sometimes. She's not the best at making it but she can at least. If she was asked if she liked tea, she'd be surprised and ask why it mattered. When Zuko gets mad and knocks a cup to the floor, she can bend it back into the cup. Despite it all, she does like it.
Their relationship towards each other is just like it with tea. Zuko claims not to like her at all. He just says she's some person his uncle likes to talk to. But he does like her, taking quick glances and occasionally flirting with her. He definitely can't make the relationship work himself and when he gets mad, he pushes her away.
Katara wouldn't deny the relationship if it was offered. She flirts and accepts him but when he's being a jerk or when she's been around him way too much, she gets sick of him. She could make a relationship with him if she really tried but she's not sure she should. If she was asked about their relationship, she would be surprised and ignore the question. And when Zuko gets mad and pushes her away, she pushed him back and helps him out.
They need each other to make tea in a way, the fire to warm the water and they need each other to make the relationship work. They each have their own way of dealing with their expression of their relationship, denial or avoidance.
But the one thing that makes their relationship so like tea, is the fact that when Zuko spills it, Katara's there to bend it back.
