Hey guys, InfernalFox here!
So, I had a random idea, and decided to turn it into something readable. It's a one shot, since I still don't feel ready to write something long. This is kinda an AU where it's Roxas instead of Sora.
Hope you enjoy!
And now, to the story.
Roxas ran up the stairs, finally catching up to the girl he could not remember.
"Hey, why did you run?" He asked to the hooded figure in front of him.
Then the person in front of him took his hood off, and his breath hitched.
It was Sora.
Immediately, the reason for taking this test went back to him at full force. He wanted to take this Mark of Mastery with Riku, to show everybody that he wasn't Sora, just as Riku was taking it for his friend. Everyone knew it. Sora was gone. He wasn't coming back. Sora had died in Hollow Bastion, and the what had been left of him had been destroyed at Castle Oblivion. He was totally and utterly gone.
Yet, here he was, in front of him.
His Other he had never gotten to meet surprised him by saying the first words.
"This could have been the other way around" Sora said sadly.
"What… what are you doing here?" He said a little bit bitterly. He had never gotten to meet Sora, but everyone never stopped reminding him he would never be as good as him.
"But I guess it has to be like this" Sora continued, still smiling sadly.
"What do you mean?!" Roxas said frustrated.
For the duration of his test, everyone had been speaking in riddles. Joshua, Xemnas, the white haired guy and now Sora.
"You aren't me, but you can feel what I felt" Sora said
Roxas shook his head, frustrated "Sora, we are not the same, and I can't feel. I don't have any of your memories, and I now know we are different" He explained. In the start, everyone expected him to be a carbon copy of Sora, Riku, Kairi, Mickey, Master Yen Sid… everyone. But they weren't the same, and he now knew that.
Sora simply took his hands, and suddenly a barrage of images and feelings passed through Roxas's mind and heart.
Then he was left alone, in this strange dream.
He let out a painful sight. This had been Sora's life? Battle, battle, battle. Heck, it was almost as bad as his.
Roxas looked at his side, and he started walking. Walking toward the end of his test.
Walking towards the unknown.
Walking, feeling whole for the first time.
Aand… done!
This was inspired by the sentence "This could have been the other way around" that Roxas says at the end of DDD. It was a random idea, and I wrote it on my way to school. I have been feeling very inspired lately, so I will be updating more.
R&R people!
InfernalFox OUT! !
