this idea about Smarty is what I'm going to use in another story,
but I want to try to write something that is outside the story I want to put it in
with the choices and how Smarty becomes the man he is today, went a little differently.
and I decided this will be a two chapter story, I will write the next chapter after this
but I wont post it up until 2019 and I will work on the next chapter next month in 2019,
I will have the next chapter show a flashback to tell a little more of Smarty's life before he moved to Los Angeles.
anyway hope you enjoy this short story.
his name is Smarty, Smarty The Weasel and the leader of The Infamous Toon Patrol
he was the tough boss that kept his boys in line but that wasn't all that were to him
as he has been keeping a secret for some time away from all other toons, humans and even his own men
and that is the fact that he use to be a Female Toon Weasel, but he never felt like a really female toon
before he got the Paint, Ink and Edit of his Body type Surgery (he kind of forgot what the humans who did his surgery called it)
he use to live somewhere in Toon-Brooklyn before coming down to Toontown
back in Toon-Brooklyn all the toons that lived there that didn't really make it into the big fancy cartoons or animated movies
all knew he used to be a gal, but he left before anyone could see his new look
he just packed up one night placing all his clothes and belongings in a small suitcase that was sitting on his bed
then after finishing packing, he left his apartment and headed to his car and took off out of Toon-Brooklyn then outside into Real Brooklyn
and making his way to Los Angeles.
to say he would keep on driving through the day and night on his travel to California wouldn't be true
as he did end up stopping to rest at some rest stops and to eat, hey even toons got to eat and sleep even if some humans think they don't
and that it just Toon Stereotyping, humans don't just stereotyping each other they also tend to stereotype toons too
Smarty knew that Toon-Brooklyn, Real Brooklyn and a few other places in America
are the only locations that don't stereotype toon weasels, and he knew before he decided to move to Los Angeles way over at California
that people there think all toon weasels couldn't be trusted and that both man & toon will keep his distant from him once he got there
well that was what he hoped, he had no plan to make friends there but a team of his own that he was put in charge of
well that wasn't his plan either but here he was, looking at his men who he brought back to life in the year 2018
and you might be thinking that wait didn't Smarty die in the dipped? how is he still here, wasn't he destroyed both in toon body and spirit
yeah it would seem that way but he really didn't, you see before Smarty left to go with his Patrol to go find Jessica & Eddie
he overheard Doom say that after he destroys Toontown, he was going to go to Toon-Brooklyn next and all the other toon counterpart cities and towns of the real world
Smarty thought that they would only be going after Toontown and just make a freeway past it,
he didn't know that the man he called Boss was planing to destroy all the other toon cities & towns in America, that's when he decided to replace himself with a Toon Robot Copy of himself
program it to act and do what he would do if he was really there, Smarty had watched and heard everything that went on that happen that night
and even watched his men as well as that robot copy of himself, get killed...even if the toon robot was kicked in to the dip
a part of him was glad because if the robot had hit the wall or floor when Valiant kicked him below the belt
then the robot would of broke and show itself as a fake, how he knew that would happen if it did
is the fact one of the robot eyes would pop out if Smarty slap it in the back of the head, and the wires would poke out and show that it is a 100% robot fake of himself
over the years he tried to find the drawings of his Patrol but on the side he was taking odd jobs, mostly outside of Los Angeles
he had moved from there after the events that transpired, he had to disguise himself to go back every few years to look for the drawings of his team
so he could bring them back to life with the multiplane camera that also took him years to save up to get, it had cost a lot to afford it
back before television was invented and people could either go to the movies or wait until it comes on tv,
at the moment he was looking at the confused faces of his men.
"Smarty what happen? weren't we in the Factory before? and wait...BOSS!"Greasy said as he runs up to him and grabs him by both his arms
"I WATCHED YOU DIE! HOW IS IT YOUR ALIVE?!"Greasy questioned as his eyes were wide from shock seeing the weasel he called boss was standing before him
even after watching him get dip by Eddie Valiant by just a simple kick that wouldn't send a normal human man flying like a toon, he knew what he saw
both him and Psycho both saw it, even if he found himself laughing it was only because he couldn't stop from laughing from the acts that Valiant
on the inside when he saw Smarty die in dip before his eyes, he wanted to cry out and hurt Eddie for hurting his best friend who was like a brother to him
but couldn't because Greasy ended up dyeing from laughing just like the others in the toon patrol, one by one until both he and Psycho were left
given that both Stupid and Wheezy were the first to go, then next it was Smarty...who had managed to get control of himself
which was long enough to exchange a few words with Valiant before he seemingly met his end by not laughing but by the dip.
"yeah I can explain how it is I'm alive, you see-"Smarty said but before he could explain, he was given a out of character action of Greasy
he started to hug him, tightly and he could feel the tears dripping down from Greasy's eyes and on to his left shoulder
"Gr-Greasy?!"Smarty stammers out as he was taken in surprise by the sudden hug from Greasy who even surprised Wheezy, Stupid and Psycho
who watched him cry and hug Smarty close to him before finally deciding to let him go
and looking at Smarty with happiness in his eyes and a gentle smile to go with it
"it's really good to see you Smarty, but how is that you lived I mean I don't think any human or toon would try to bring you back from that dip so what happen?"
this time Greasy drops the smile and puts on a serious face
to which Smarty lets out a sigh, well he was thinking about telling them everything and that would be EVERYTHING
about his past and what happen that night.
"you boys best sit down, this is gonna knock ya off your feet if you are standing."
2 hours later...
as suspected after he told him his past and about what happen that night during the final plans to make Toontown into a freeway
his Patrol were dumbstruck by the news that Smarty was smart enough to create a duplicate of himself that was life like enough to pass off as a toon
and that he watched everything that happen and had worked hard to find their original drawings of themselves and saved up enough to get a multiplane camera to bring them back to life
the first one to speak and close his mouth back up was Wheezy
"hold up, hold up. okay let me get this straight you use to be a female but you got a type of surgery to make you male?"Wheezy had his hand on his forehead and one hand on his right hip as he said this
and Smarty replies "yeah pretty much, it was before I ended up meeting you all and before we all worked for Doom."
"why didn't you tell us about it? I mean the whole eavesdropping on the Judge I get, and I understand that you wanted to be cautious but we are more than just your team we are your family, we would of understood."Greasy said
"so you aren't mad that I kept it secret for so long? and the fact I hoped that those Rabbits and Valiant beat him...I mean if I had known that you guys were going to...bite the paint dust I would of made copies of you too."
he let's out a gulp as he continued on speaking with tears he tried to fight back "if I had known it was gonna be that bad I would of got us all out of there with only robot copies of us behind."
Wheezy places a hand on his shoulder "there wouldn't of been time to make all robot copies of us Smarty, you did the right thing and just so you know we aren't mad that you wanted to keep those other toon cities and towns safe"
with a heavy weight off his shoulders Smarty let out a sigh of relief, before taking a seat down on his recliner to relax.
"still, what would of happen if you didn't leave that hammer out where Valiant could see it before the rest of us got there?"Stupid asked as he watched in amazement as Smarty worked the recliner and a part of the chair
raised back for his legs while the back let him lay back.
"yeah guess that was kind of luck, a part of me was worried that he wouldn't find it and he, those love birds of Rabbits would end up dead, I thought up the logical ways that would go down that dip vehicle would be moved
forward at the same spot a few feet away from the floor I left the hammer when I was at the Acme Factory before you all and my robot copy came by, I knew the odds of failure but I took the risks even if I did kind of turn against Doom, but I couldn't let destroy places that don't stereotype us being weasels and not forget that...if I known I was going to lose you all from that dang Eddie doing those gags out of thin air then I would of..."
"Smarty it's fine, as we said we forgive ya and we understand but we need to ask...how much has changed since we been gone?"
Greasy asked and hoping to drop the topic for now as he could see how upset it was making Smarty, normally all of them (well except Stupid) wouldn't cry or show emotions other than what they were told by Judge Doom
to show other people (both toon and human alike) to show them that they mean business and they weren't playing around or there for laughs, but now they could be themselves and relax
well Greasy was always the type to flirt with the ladies, Psycho was always well himself, Stupid was well not the brightest but he had a good heart, Wheezy always had that cool mystery about him at times even when he smoked
but now they can fully be themselves and not only half, they can openly joke and laugh, yeah laugh...even if they couldn't before they did find a cure for toons to keep them from dying from laughter
Smarty will tell them this after he shows them a little of how much has changed.
he got up off his recliner well more like hop off, then he goes to the double doors to his private home and before opening the double doors he gives them a smirk
"I hope you boys are ready, cause a lot has changed and you best be ready for the sights and smells of this new world I'm about to show you."
Smarty says before opening the double doors which welcome both him and the rest of the toon patrol to a very bright light before seeing the new world before them
and what they will find & discover will change their lives forever.
