I woke up the following morning after Gaia's defeat and was immediately flashed to Olympus. I was still in my pajamas when I saw everyone. The Olympians and most of my friends from camp. I was freaking out because I was in my flipping pajamas when I thought about all of the naked statues of the gods. They must not care how under dressed people are. I see Percy and sit between him and Piper. The gods are just staring at us and waiting for us to get situated. Leo pops in, followed by Thalia. I must not have been the only person to forget to set an alarm. I looked at Athena, my mother, and see her look at me with sadness and defeat. Finally, the Stoll twins popped in. As soon as they popped in something unsettling happened. The Olympians crashed into their seats, all sharing the look that Athena had given me. At last, Zeus spoke. He said, "Young demigods, today has been a momentous occasion. Gaia has been defeated. We thank you for your service but there has been an unfortunate problem." Before he could continue, Seaweed Brain yells, "Please, no more problems or prophecies!" All the demigods shook their heads in agreement. The gods all looked at their children and said, "This is not your problem, it is ours. Our time is up." We sat there confused until Hera elaborated. She said, "The three fates visited us last night, after the final battle of the war. They told us that it was time to pick a new council full of demigods. We will turn you each into gods, no matter if you want to or not. All of us will become minor gods and you will become the major Olympians." We sat still in shock as we tried to process the news. I looked at Percy and hugged him, scared about what the future holds. I don't want to be a god. I know, shocker, but I still have my life to live. I want to go to college and get married and grow old! This isn't how my life was supposed to go.
After the shock wore off, the loud protests started. I sat silently and thought. What will we be the gods of? Will it be painful? Where will we live. Who will rule over the other gods as Zeus and Hera are currently doing? The gods opened their mouths to speak and what they said changed our lives.
