Aang and Katara were visiting Ba Sing Se for a meeting with the Earth King about the Harmony Restoration Movement. On their time off one day they visited the Jasmine Dragon. It had been almost six months since the end of the 100-year war and Aang and Katara had developed a pretty solid relationship, but the past few weeks, Katara had become rather insecure about something.

"Aang," she started, using a spoon to mix her tea. "Why do you like me?" She looked up at him.

"Katara," Aang began, looking up at her. "Look at me," he said. Katara did, and he put his hand on her cheek. "I don't just like you. I love you." He tried to lightly kiss her, but she pulled away.

"That's not what I meant, Aang," Katara left his loving gaze. "I mean, ever since you met me, you loved me and tried to be with me and never gave up. But I just pushed you away, and... and... I didn't see... how great you are to me... I don't deserve-" Katara started quietly crying, but Aang stopped her. He made Katara look him in the eye. He seemed to be frowning and smiling at the same time.

"Katara, don't say that. I love you, and I always will love you. You are the love of my life, my first love, and my last. I doesn't matter if you push me away a million times, because I will always come back. I will never, ever give up on you, on us... All that matters, is that we are together. That's all that matters at all."

"But Aang... Aang.. I don't deserve you. You are the kindest, nicest, most caring and loving person I know, and I took that for granted." Katara was crying really hard now and were getting quite a few stares.

Aang kissed her.

"There, does that seem like I hate you?"

Katara smiled a little bit, and shook her head. "Nope," she said. They both giggled a little bit, their faces centimeters apart. Then they kissed again.

"I love you, Aang. I always will."

"I love you too, Katara. You're my Forever Girl, and I'm the Avatar, so I really mean forever."

And they finished their tea in utter joy.
