This is undergoing re-writing at the moment, and this first chapter will most probably change considerably. Sorry for any inconvenience!
The young girl stepped out of the comfort of her limousine into the cold grey drizzle of Canberra. She crossed the multi-lane road, oblivious to the angry horn tooting and shouting that took place around her.
She approached a multi-story brick building and stopped in front of the door. She ignored the door bell and instead looked up to the top of the magnificent wooden door. There was a soft beep and the door swung open, revealing a large lobby full of people milling about. She stepped onto the marble floor, her low heels making a click. She crossed the floor towards the lift and nodded to the guard, who pressed the call button for the lift.
After three seconds of waiting the lift doors opened with a soft ding. She stepped into the mirrored lift and pressed her finger to the fingerprint sensitive keys. While the lift was in motion, she pulled out a stick of red lipstick and expertly applied it in the mirror.
All of a sudden, the lift gave a gentle lurch to the right and the doors opened. She stepped out and was instantly stopped by a female guard. The guard reached into her belt and pulled out a long grey object. The girl sighed and stood out in a star. The lady swiped the object around the girl.
"All clear miss, have a nice day." Said the guard.
The girl went to walk towards her room but stopped when she saw that her door was slightly ajar. "Is everything okay miss?" Asked the guard.
"Yes" said the girl, walking cautiously towards her apartment.
She pushed the door open and peered around it. She walked into the room and surveyed her surroundings. There was a slight rustle and her hand flew to her shoulder and ripped the gun from its holster. Then she realised that it was just the curtain fluttering in the wind. She gently slid the gun back into its holster and began searching the apartment.
She checked under the feather mattress of her four poster bed, nothing.
She checked all the compartments in the marble bathroom, nothing.
She checked under the couch in the sun bathed lounge, nothing.
She even checked the storage room, still nothing.
It was only when she sat down at her desk when she saw the piece of paper taped to her desk. 'Call the number listed down below.' The note said. The girl looked down and continued reading. '0229384373.'
Grabbing the note, the girl ran over to the sink and wet the bottom of the paper. She waited a few seconds before grabbing the paper. The black ink had run into blues, purples and gold.
"Bingo!" Whispered the girl, grabbing her phone and dialling the number.
"Voice recognition please!" A mechanical voice said.
"Let me in" Said the girl grabbing a notepad and pen.
"Voice recognised, putting you onto Ms Dekker, hold please," The voice chimed, before playing Greensleeves.
The girl sighed and began doodling on the notepad. The seemingly random lines joined into pictures, and by the time Greensleeves had stopped playing she had drawn a volcano, and two girls standing next to two boys.
"Decker here" A woman's voice barked over the phone, startling the girl out of her day dream.
"Yes, go ahead, what are my instructions?" The girl asked.
"Here they are, Miss Sinistre…."
A new chapter / a re-written first chapter will be uploaded by December of 2019.
