Aftermath

Pairing: Implied Gisburne/Loxley

Summary: Set after The Greatest Enemy. After Loxley's death, Gisburne reflects

The loss he felt was absolute; a searing pain that cut his body in two with its intensity. He hadn't seen Loxley fall, but as Loxley's life ended, he could have sworn the wolfshead took a part of Gisburne's own soul with him.

The Sheriff was jubilant. Gisburne tried to cover his sorrow with equal elation; but below the surface he was dying. They'd brought the body back to Nottingham and for a terrible moment Gisburne feared that beautiful head was destined for a pike. Instead, Loxley was buried without ceremony. Before, Gisburne stroked Loxley's hair and wept angry tears.
