Warning: EXTREAM FLUFF and SPOILERS up until the end of the manga. (if you only watched the anime and dont care for the manga go ahead and read ;D )

A New Beginning

"Are you sure you don't mind sharing the bed? I mean, I really wouldn't mind taking the floor if you're not comfortable with this," said Kyo for the thousandth time.

Tohru had flat out refused for Kyo to sleep on floor the first time he mentioned it to her. She had refused the bed as well. Annoyed Kyo had said, "There is no other way but to share because no way in hell I am going to let you sleep on the floor. What kind of boyfriend do you think I am?" To his shock and surprise Tohru had agreed. It wasn't that he didn't want to share; it was that he didn't want her to share if she was only agreeing for his sake. He had grown used to Tohru's selfless nature and wanted to make sure that she, for once, had thought about the decision she had made.

After the curse had been broken Kyo and Tohru had moved away from the Sohma house and now lived in a small apartment at the edge of the city. The area was calm and quiet and with Shishou's help Kyo would be opening his own dojo. Tohru had found a job at a nearby coffee shop and was saving up to open her own snack shop nearby.

This was their first night together; Yuki and Shigure had helped them move in that morning. Tohru felt things would be very different with out Yuki and Shigure around. It had barely been a day and she missed them already. She kept reminding herself that Yuki was going to the community college so that he stay close to Machi, so they weren't really that far. Yuki's dorm room was only a thirty minute drive. And only another thirty minutes to reach Shigure and the other Sohma's at the main house.

Tohru smiled shyly and turned a cute pink color and said quietly, "Kyo-kun I want to share. I love you Kyo-kun and I want you next to me all the time, forever. We're starting a new life and I want it to be with you." She looked down, suddenly embarrassed.

If Kyo hadn't lived with her for the past couple of years he would have openly gaped at her. Still he was knocked into a stupor by the depth of her words.

Quickly he composed himself and crossed the room. He gathered Tohru in his arms and held her. He tilted her chin so that he could look into her eyes.

"I love you more than the world itself," he whispered, meaning each and every word. Gently he pressed two chaste kisses on each eye and one on her lips. When Tohru gasped and blushed madly, Kyo grinned wickedly. She still hadn't gotten used to his kissing her on the lips, although he did it frequently enough. He loved the effect he had on her.

Kyo turned out the light and climbed into bed. He had made the decision to not to touch Tohru until he was sure she was ready, however once again Tohru had shocked him.

He was facing Tohru while she faced the wall. Tohru reached back around herself and found Kyo's hand. She squeezed it reassuringly and brought it around and placed it around her waist. Kyo's eyes widened when she snuggled in closer to him, sighing her contentment. Kyo's arm tightened around Tohru protectively and he pulled her towards him burying his face in her neck; he could almost hear her smile.

Feeling Torhu's relaxed form against him made him realize that she was truly okay with his presence. As for himself, Kyo knew that Tohru's presence wasn't only reassuring it was a necessity to him; without her he could not survive.
