Swazdo-lah, everybody! Here I am again with another crossover. I've been reading a lot of splatoon stuff recently, and I thought "Eh. I could give it a go". I have no idea where the hell this story is going, and forgive me if certain mechanics or canon are incorrect. It probably just makes it easier for me to work with. Obviously, I don't own Warframe or Splatoon, so with that obligatory disclaimer out of the way, sit back, relax and read. I'll update this as often as possible before the muse dies.

In the far future thousands of years after the great flood, the once barren and empty ocean birthed new life into the world. From the ashes of a long dead civilization, creatures similar to humans emerged from the dark depths. The Inklings, and the Octarians, among other sea life. Hundreds of years of evolution lead to the adaptation of oriental and eventually, modernized cultures.

The two species lived together in peace and harmony.

However, that peace would not last. And so began the Great Turf War, a contest of remaining land untouched by rising sea levels. The Octarians lost, and were banished underground.

Meanwhile in an entirely separate reality, beings known as Tenno fight a never ending battle against tyranny and oppression across the solar system. From the overgrown and mutated forests of Earth, to the borderline supernatural space known as the void.

The void is a strange place, its capabilities and behavior not yet fully realized. The void is a crossroads in a manner of speaking. Across the infinite multiverse, the void is the one true consistency. Soon, the gates of the void will open again, throwing an unfortunate Tenno into a world not of his own.

Chapter 1: Screw spy missions.

Location: Lua, Pavlov.

The mission was simple. Get in, hack a few terminals, get out. This would be easy, if it weren't for the fact that this operative was a Nidus warframe. Nidus, a horrible Warframe choice for stealth missions. He was more effective at exterminate and survival assignments, and overly enthusiastic about it too.

Nidus ran through the ruined, crumbling halls of Lua with his twitching Hema rifle in hand and Lex prime on his hip. Ahead, Grineer and Corpus fought for immediate control. Platoons of grineer soldiers led by gunners, and Corpus squads of MOAs led by tech crewmen. The sight of so many foes excited Nidus. His infested cells frilled up, forcing his signature mutated appearance. Nidus froze, a transmission appearing on his Heads up display. The Lotus, no doubt checking on his progress.

"Nidus, remember. Your task is to infiltrate the data vaults at this location. Extermination is not your concern."

His appearance returned to normal as he regained his composure. Nidus made a series of vocal clicks, conveying his disappointment. Perhaps another day…

Ignoring the majority of enemies save for any nullifiers or grineer that crossed him, he made his way through the contested halls and into the first data vault. Another transmission from the lotus.

"The target console is nearby. Trigger the alarms now, and the data destruction sequence will activate."

Nidus nodded to no one in particular, Holstered his rifle, and proceeded into the vault. The White and gold door swiveled open, and what he saw perplexed him. A ruined data vault, the console of interest in an equal state of disrepair. This is what he was after? Deep in thought, he hadn't noticed the transmission notification before it popped up on his HUD.

"Nidus. Wait a moment. I'm getting some strange readings from this place. There appear to be void-based spatial anomalies. You might need them to traverse the vault. Tread lightly."

The transmission ended, and Nidus looked around the decrepit room. Off to the side, he thought he saw a brief spark. Curious, he walked over to investigate. The air around him crackled, and a small fissure opened in front of him. A deep blue ripple in space and time. He poked the floating thing. Deciding it was safe, he jumped straight into it.

Nidus felt dizzy for a moment, and realized he had been transported to another location of the vault. Apparently, a room above the previous one, looking down onto the console. Across the room, another fissure opened. Again, he hopped right in.

Now he was somewhere else, seemingly disconnected from the vault. More fissures popped up around the room, three more in total. Nidus thought this was quite fun. It was a strange thing to find an action so simple to be so entertaining. He kept jumping through fissures, having the...second best time of his life.

Without warning, a fissure opened immediately after his exit. Nidus was thrown through the fissure, hurtling through a wormhole of some sort. In between infested screeches of terror, he mentally cursed himself for screwing around in such a serious situation. He looked around him as best he could, trying to figure out where he was. It was all a blur as he tried to get a grip on his surroundings. He managed to get a glimpse of something passing by him in the distance: planets. Hundreds upon thousands of planets, all resembling Earth. Intriguing. Nidus looked back down, and was shocked to find himself hurtling towards one. There was nothing he could do as he continued rocketing towards it. Accepting his situation, he braced himself for collision.

Strange...Nidus should have hit something by now. He looked around to see that he was no longer in the rift or the void, but rather falling from thousands of feet in the air. On the plus side, the rift didn't kill him. On the down side, the fall probably would. He was moving quite fast after all. Reinforcing his body with as much infested material as he could muster, Nidus braced himself before colliding with the ground below.

This was gonna hurt…

There it is, chapter one! Sorry that there's really no crossover just yet, this chapter was just to get the ball rolling. It'd be a bit weird having Nidus just wake up somewhere, and really cliched. Oh and that whole fissure-wormhole thing? That is why I hate Lua spy missions. Let me know if you guys want me to continue this, because I would really like to.

Another thing. Some of you may be wondering "Why exactly did you decide to make a Splatoon Crossover with Warframe of all things?"

My answer: \_(ツ)/ idk
