Lily sighed, leaning back against the tree, a book open on her lap though she hadn't read a word since she had opened it. Pulling her cloak tighter around her she wrinkled her nose at the cold, wondering why on earth she was outside. It was too cold to be outside. But she had wanted to get away from the common room. Though, why she just hadn't gone to the library like she had told her friends she didn't know. That would have made more sense, because that way she could still pretend that she was reading, without actually freezing her fingers off. Rubbing her hands together she brought them up to her face and blew of them, her breath warming them up for a fraction of a second before the icy wind blew past and made them cold again.

She was about to stand up, and give the illusion of pretending to read somewhere else when she heard the sound of footsteps crunching along the ground. She twisted her head slightly turning to see who else was stupid enough to be outside in the miserable weather and noticed the mop of black hair that fell over Severus' face as he stared down at his feet.

About to call out she stopped herself and watched, wondering why the Slytherin wasn't tucked up in their common room with the rest of his friends, plotting however they were going to take over the world. She fingered the end of the Gryffindor scarf that hung loosely around her neck as Severus sat down some meters away from where she sat. She watched him, turning her scarf around her finger still wondering why he was out and about.

"Sev," She called out, though her voice was quiet and didn't seem to reach. She bit down on her lip and pondered calling out again. But thought better of it, she picked up her book and bundled it into her arms. Cursing the cold. With another glance at the Slytherin boy she headed back to the castle, at the same time he turned his head and noticed her walking away.
