In this story, Ruby and Heathcliff are eight years old. (and the only NERDS) Heathcliff has just started out on the NERDS team. One of Miss Holiday's cookies leads to a huge confession. This story is about my favorite pairing... Reathcliff! (RubyxHeathcliff) I don't own NERDS. Michael Buckley does.

Woo hoo! This story is awesome! Here are three reasons why:

This story was written to celebrate the fact that my first post (Chapter one of Smoke Will Burn) was written on the sixteenth of last month.

I know that this one is really short, but it's enjoyable. I have one that is perfect for Valentine's Day that I will post on Valentine's Day. (probably) This takes place when Ruby and Heathcliff are eight and Heathcliff has just joined the NERDS. Enjoy!

"Oh, and I left a treat in your bags. OK, I think that's everything. We're ready for takeoff!" Miss Holiday said. As soon as she left, Heathcliff unzipped the front pocket of his pack and pulled out a chocolate chip cookie. "You are actually planning on eating that? Are you crazy?" Ruby asked, just as Heathcliff was going to take a bite of his cookie. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," she recommended. She took a cookie out of her bag. She tossed it across the room like a Frisbee. When it hit the wall, Heathcliff was shocked. Instead of crumbling, the cookie left a dent in the wall. When he looked back at the blonde, she was scratching her arm furiously. Heathcliff frowned. And to think that I actually had feelings for her, Heathcliff thought. Like Ruby's heart, the cookie was as hard as stone.

After a few minutes of silence, it was getting awkward. "We should be there in about five minutes," Ruby said timidly. She looked she was about to explode. Heathcliff couldn't take it anymore. "OK. You know what? Have you ever heard of love at first sight? Well it happened to me! I love you, okay?" Heathcliff practically yelled. Both of them blushed. Ruby smiled. "I love you too," Ruby replied. Then she enveloped him in a hug. Both of them smiled. When it was time to jump out of the School Bus, they jumped out together, holding hands.
