A.N. I saw a picture of Hilda being dragged underwater by a Frillish, and I thought…."Hmmm…I could do something with this." So, do enjoy this slightly darker one-shot.

She had been examining the small lake on the outskirts of Nuvema Town when she saw that pink Frillish. Of course, Frillish being part Ghost-type, and Alex Cheshire having a strong liking for Ghost-types, she knelt down at the lake's edge to get a closer look at this jellyfish Pokémon. In fact, she had never seen one of them in a lake before – they were usually just found in the ocean.

The Frillish lifted a pink arm-like appendage and waved at the teen. With a smile slowly creeping across Alex's face, a smile like the Cheshire Cat's, Alex waved back. Frillish's mouth also turned up into a smile as it swam closer towards the shore, where Alex was kneeling. It made a "come here" motion with it's pink appendage. The Trainer frowned and shook her head.

"I can't swim."

A smirk steadily grew on Frillish's mouth as it swam right in front of the disappointed girl. It stretched out both of its pink appendages towards Alex and smiled an obviously fake smile.

Alex shook her head again.

"I can't swim – and my older brother won't let me go in water without him around."

The pink jellyfish's fake smile turned into a genuine scowl as it suddenly lunged for the unsuspecting girl, pulling her into the lake with it. Alex screamed as she hit the lake with a loud splash, her paint-splattered hiking boot the last thing to get completely submerged.

A feeling of panic swept over the struggling Trainer as she was dragged down deeper, the surface light getting farther and farther away.

Her older brother, Hilbert, had told her before that she wasn't allowed to go in lakes, ponds, pools, etc. without him, until she learned how to swim. He had warned her about drowning, and how slow and painful it was.

As the air was forced from Alex's lungs, a terrifying thought coursed through her head.

Was she drowning?

She must be.

Drowning was dying.

And right now, dying was drowning.

She would never see her family again!

She would never see her friends again!

Because…she was drowning.

Because…she was dying.

And as the Frillish pulled her father away from the surface, one thought constantly rang through Alex's head:

I'm drowning…

I'm dying…

As she was pulled down further under the water, Frillish's pink appendages wrapped tightly around her waist, the bubbles that Alex had been letting out from her mouth began to come slower and slower. Her vision was beginning to blur, the lake becoming almost like a blue swirl, and the light from above mixing in as a dim yellow.

I'm drowning…

I'm dying…

The Frillish chuckled and squeezed the unfortunate Trainer's chest even tighter, letting out the few morsels of air that the drowning girl had. And now, the lake didn't seem like much of a blue and yellow swirl, but something that seemed to be getting darker and darker as small amounts of air were repelled from her lungs.

I'm drowning…

I'm dying…

Alex's incoherent thoughts drifted towards her family. Would they notice she was gone?

Would they notice that she had drowned?

Would anyone ever find her here, at the bottom of this seemingly endless lake?

I'm drowning…

I'm dying…

The Nuvema native's purple eyes began to slowly close as the two neared their destination. The lake was looking more like a black blob as her eyes shut for the last time, just when the Frillish deposited the nearly-dead girl on the bottom of the lake.

I'm drowning…

I'm dying…

The lake was just a black mass hovering above her.

Alex's almond-shaped eyes closed, her eyelashes almost fluttering with the current of the water.

Her eyes remained shut for the rest of the years.

I'm dead.

A.N. I feel like I just wrote a Creepypasta or something. Erk. Anyway, do review! Ciao!
