Dean walked in Ben's new room and saw him playing one of those hand held video games. Dean could never keep up with the current cool stuff for kids.
He cleared his throat. "Can I come in?"
Ben didn't look up. He just shrugged his shoulders and continued playing his game.
Dean sighed and walked in grabbing chair from Ben's desk and sat down on it.
"I'm sorry I got so angry at you." Ben continued to play his game which Dean didn't blame him. "I shouldn't have done that. I don't want you to have the life that I did as a kid."
Ben stopped playing his game and looked up at him. "I understand, but all the time you act like something is going to come after me and mom."
"I'm trying to keep you safe. Plus a kid your age shouldn't have been holding a gun in the first place." He told him.
"I get it. I won't touch your stuff ever again."
"I don't care if you touch my stuff, Ben. I just don't want you touching any weapons. I know this move has been hard for you."
He finally looked up at him. "Actually, I think it might be better here," he admitted with a smile.
Dean nodded with relief that things were back to normal with them. He peered at the hand held game.
"So, what game are you playing?"
Ben smirked at him. "You really want to know?"
The kid knew him too well. "Not really."
