Prologue
Her feet hurried down the ruined street and her steps filled the air with a quiet 'thump, thump, thump' sound. She was a brunette haired girl with brown eyes. She was wearing a sleeveless pink and white shirt over a short-sleeved yellow shirt, blue jean shorts, and blue sneakers. Everything around her was crumbling, dying. The buildings, street signs, peeled-away asphalt from the streets. Everything was half-destroyed. It felt like the very air was growing thin and dying.
As she ran, she saw a yellow dome-shaped building that was mostly intact. A damaged sign read "Capsule Corp". It looked to be a nice shelter to hide in for a few days. She made a sharp right, nearly tripping, and ducked into the building. Peering outside, she saw her two pursuers speed past the building. She was safeā¦. for now. "Are you hiding from the Androids too?" she almost jumped at the voice. Turning to the source, she saw a teenage boy. He had lavender hair and blue eyes. He wore a black shirt with black pants and a yellow belt and shoe. He also wore a blue jacket that said "Capsule Corp." on the sleeve, and a sword that was on his back.
He extended his hand to her and helped her to her feet. "It's okay, you're safe." the boy said calmly. Serenity eased a little from his good demeanor but her cheeks were still red.
"Thank you." she said. "He's cute." She snapped out of it and realized she didn't know his name. "I'm Serenity Wheeler, by the way." The boy smiled. "My name is Trunks." he replied. Serenity relaxed somewhat. "Is this your home? Is it safe here?" Trunks simply nodded. "For the moment, yes it is safe." Knowing what Trunks was about to ask her, she began to explain her story. "Well to answer your question about where I'm from, it's a place called Domino City." Trunks didn't ever recall a city with that name, but continued to listen. "I was on a trip with some friends, and we stopped here to use the restroom." At this, Serenity began to shed tears. "When I got out, the van-" she sniffled a bit and whimpered "-was destroyed, and those-Androids saw me. I ran until I saw your place and ducked inside." Trunks was slightly shaken, but allowed Serenity to bury her face in his chest and sob. "It's alright, Serenity." Trunks answered. "You're safe as long as you're with me." "Th-thank you." Serenity said between sobs.
