It was Hermaeus Mora the Daedric Prince of Knowledge that discovered the chained God. Even the Prince of the Past and Future had not foreseen finding an imprisoned Et'Ada^ adrift in the realms of Oblivion closest to Aetherius. Intrigued Hermaeus Mora approached the spirit in his eternal quest for Knowledge.
As soon as Hermaeus Mora's presence was known to him the fallen Valar once known as Melkor spoke. "Tell me your name Maiar so I may know who frees me." Hermaeus Mora replied, "It would be wise to pay more respect. I am Hermaeus Mora the Daedric Prince of Knowledge and you are in a cage." "Daedric Prince?" "It seems you have been locked up for quite some time allow me to educate you. I am one of the 16 Daedric Princes the most powerful of the Daedra and a ruler of Oblivion." "I see, I have heard of your kin, you are descendants of Anu* who explored the void and created your own plane." "What do you mean by created your own plane? You mean there is more than Oblivion, Aetherius, and Mundus?" "I will tell you all about it if let me go." Melkor smiled internally, he had been free from the moment Hermaeus Mora had declared his pursuit of Knowledge.
Hermaus Mora didn't even think twice with the answers offered to him. The chains of the Valar were vaporized in an instant. Melkor's grin came to the outside and stuck, being free after drifting for eons would do that. Hermaeus Mora didn't waste a second in asking, "What are the other planes like? How were they created? What is in them?" Melkor s smile never wavered as he explained the Great Song, the Tyranny of Morgoth, and everything in between. I'm turn Hermaeus Mora gave Melkor information on Nirn, its creation, and the various realms of Oblivion. This trading of information continued long after Melkor was freed resulting in the two becoming steadfast allies.
Soon after being set loose in Oblivion Melkor made a name for himself as the newest and (arguably) the most powerful Daedric Prince. Soon mortals, Aedra, and other Daedra feared the name Melkor Daedric Prince of Power, Corruption, and Abominations.
^ Ainur and Et'Ada are the same thing here.
*In my Head canon for this crossover Anu was the first creation of Eru. But since Anu was nearly as powerful as Eru he soon created on his own.
A/N: I had so much fun writing this, I mean the two universes were practically begging for this concept. Seriously though, if the Valar dropped Morgoth off in Oblivion instead of the LoTR Void there would be another major showdown in the near Future possibly even involving the other Et'Ada.
