Chapter One- Just Another Day. (Alex POV)

Ugh, Jesus. I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ear. I glance over at my clock, it was still dark in my room. 5:30am. Gross.

I stretched and sighed. I had to be at school in 45 minutes. I flipped the blankets off of me, headed to the bathroom, stripped, and started a hot, steamy shower. I pulled back the curtain and hopped in, the water cascading down my body making me feel more awake. I did all the normal things you do in the shower and decided I was in there long enough.

I headed downstairs, Mom and Dad were still asleep, as always, the lucky bastards didn't have to be up for another two hours. I checked the time on my iPhone, I had ten minutes until I had to be at my hell hole of a school. I hated school. Nobody likes a weird, gay kid, so I was an outcast with only two friends that accepted me, and we were inseparable. Rian and Zack are their names, we've been friends for about seven years. We've done it all though, together. I jumped in my car and headed off to my personal little hell. I shut my eyes and breathe in slowly through my nose. One more year, I thought, I can do this.

As I entered school, I see Rian and Zack, Rian with Cassadee, arms around her waist. I couldn't help but be jealous of that. Why couldn't I be normal, like and find girls sexually appealing? I don't understand. I probably will never get why, but that's okay, I guess. One day I will be just as happy as them, maybe happier. I've been saying that to myself for two years, I'm hoping.

"Hey, Ri. Hey, Cass," I looked at them and smiled.

"Hello, my beautiful Lex!" Cassadee said, all cheeky and smiles. She was so happy all the time, I wondered what her secret was.

"Hey Alex, band practice at your house after school?"

"Yeah, you need a ride?"

"Yeah, I'm still grounded from my car," he laughed. Rian got dropped off at his house drunk and his parents were still awake. Not a good situation for him, but he sees this as a learning opportunity.

"Okay, I'll just meet you at your locker at the end of 11th period. Have you seen Zack?" I haven't seen him all day, I wondered where the little bugger was.

"Yeah, he's-" just as he spoke, Zack appeared in front of me.

"Hey guys," Zack grumbled.

"Drink some coffee Zack, you'll feel more awake," Cassadee said and handed him her Hello Kitty Thermos.

"I'm so tired, I literally stayed up all night studying for Chem, Mr. B better be kind and all my other teachers better be prepared for my nap time." We all just laughed. We knew he wasn't kidding either, but at least he would get a good grade.

My day flew by, surprisingly. I met Ri and Zack at Rian's locker.

"Ready to go?" I say. They nodded so we walked back to my car and after a quiet ride home, we arrived at the Gaskarth household. My mom and dad weren't home, as they worked the 9-5 shift. We headed down to my basement where our practices always were. I sighed, we still needed a guitarist. Zack could play guitar, but we had him on bass, so we decided to make our band into four members.

"Hey, Alex," Rian started, "ya' know, I think I found a kid for our band. His name is Jack. Would he be able to come over. He's a family friend of mine, I didn't know he could play until two minutes ago."

"Um, yeah, sure, why not," I replied. He called up the kid, Jack was his name I guess, and gave him my address and told him to bring a guitar.

While we were waiting, we decided to order a pizza, Zack called in and paid for it, what a sweetie.

"Thanks, Zacky," I climbed on his lap and kissed his cheek.

"Get out of here, Gaskarth!" We laughed and pushed me to the floor. As I looked up, my eyes were met with the most beautiful pair of brown eyes I have ever seen.

"Uh, hey," he gave a little wave, "I'm Jack."
