So this is just a little something I cooked up one night when I was not so happy with a certain someone. Not going to say who though. As for the arrangement, when I write poetry, I generally do it in Lyric form, as if it was a song.
If any parts of this song are similar to anything anyone else had written, its purely coincidence.
Two Way Street
You think you can make me love you, just sittin' there on the couch watchin' reruns of your favorite show?
Have fun in your shallow tide pool, I'd rather swim in the sea.
You told me I could live life however I wanted, but you don't know the meaning of free.
What do you know, what do you care?
Do you expect me to follow the rules you break,
Play that little game you make?
And you thought I'd blindly agree, no sorry, that's not for me.
What choice do I have, you've already made it.
You said "You can have your turn someday."
A turn to be the shell of a person that never was?
And in the end I think it comes down to the fact you get all the power.
What do you know, what do you care?
Do you expect me to follow the rules you break,
Play that little game you make?
And you thought I'd blindly agree, no sorry, that's not for me.
Hey buddy it's a two way street, which way do you think your headed?
But for you there's loopholes aren't there?
Don't blame me for all your problems, trust me I've got my own.
What do you know, what do you care?
Do you expect me to follow the rules you break,
Play that little game you make?
And you thought I'd blindly agree, no sorry, that's not for me.
You just gotta love the system.
