I Have A Password to Change
"So, I borrowed your e-mail account," Leo said, smirking in that damned sexy way of his.
"Excuse me-?"
"Never use your cat's name as a password," he quickly retorted, walking down the hallway, with Annabeth following close behind.
Before she could retort, Josh stepped in to congratulate the Vice President nominee, leaving her wondering how on earth to react to the older gentleman's deliberate invasion of her privacy. She silently realized that he might have accidentally seen her drafts folder, which was actually her personal online journal and had more than a few entries regarding her feelings towards him, but she knew he would have never read them.
Nonetheless, when he turned back to her she gently slapped him on the shoulder, giving him a smirk of her own, and said, "If you'll excuse me, too, I have a password to change," and she walked away, completely unaware of the fact that he turned his head to follow her movements, smirk still on his lips.
As soon as she was back to her room, she flipped open her laptop and pulled up her protection settings.
"So, you want something harder to crack," she muttered under her breath to herself as her fingers flew across the keyboard. "Try this on for size, McGarry!"
It was simple. Only five letters. But she knew, she knew, that not in a million years would he guess it. It was something that only she would know…well, he would know it, too, but he would have no idea that something that simple could be the password.
She smirked as she looked at her screen. It was good and solid. It would not be broken.
Feeling assured, she decided to get a bit of writing done. She had several e-mails to answer, as well as many memos that she had to finish and hand over to the campaign for them to hand out, so she took care to make sure that they were done as quickly as possible. As she typed, she was able to let her hands go on automatic while her mind wandered.
However, as she hit the keys, she thought about Leo, unable to take her mind off of him.
Not healthy, Annabeth, she said to herself internally. This is a bad road to go down.
Two days later, she passed him in the hall and he gave her a look and then tapped her arm.
"What, McGarry?"
He smirked.
"Nice try. Five letters isn't hard to crack, Annabeth..." And then he smirked at her again and she turned a violent red. How did he guess it…?
He then said, "S, M, I, R, K. You shouldn't have told me."
She turned on her heel and disappeared down the hall. She had a password to change.
THE END
