They Came

This is my very first Full Metal Alchemist story. Please tell me how I did.
Chapter one: Comet
It all started when "it" came. "It", as in that damn comet. When it came it was Armageddon. I'll tell you the story of how it happened.
I was in the colonels' room getting teased about my height again. I was doing my best to ignore him but it wasn't working. I leaped up and started screaming at the colonel. That was when we felt the ground shake. Riza Hawkeye and Jean Havoc ran into the room. It was surprising; Havoc didn't have his cigarette in his mouth. They saluted to the colonel.
"Sir, there's something you should see." Hawkeye said. The colonel got up and walked over to Hawkeye and Havoc.
"What is it Lieutenants?" he asked. They looked at each other.
"Just follow us, Sir" Havoc said. The colonel nodded and followed them. He made a gesture to me to follow so I did. I found my brother, Alphonse waiting in the hall. So we followed Havoc and Hawkeye and they lead us out of H.Q. to where Lab 5 used to be. Al and I looked at each other. Why were they leading us there? We soon found out. When we go closer we saw a crowd and smoke. We pushed our way through the crowd and saw a huge comet. But it wasn't a normal comet. It looked a little like a cylinder. I walked over to the comet and felt the ground. I immediately pulled my hand back. The colonel went over to me.
"What's wrong, Full Metal?" he asked. I looked up at him. He saw my shocked expression.
"The ground… It's freezing cold." I said. He looked at me strangely. He bent down and felt the ground too and did the same thing I did.
"Edward, you're right," he said. "It is freezing cold." That was when we heard what sounded like something unscrewing. That's when we realized it was the comet. We stared at the comet and saw that it was slowly unscrewing. As we watched it slowly unscrewing I backed off and stood next to Al. If there was anything in that comet I would protect my brother. Heh, that's where I was wrong. The comet was finally done unscrewing and the lid fell with a loud clang. That was when "it" came out.
